Edit: Grabbing the latest DirextX SDK from Microsoft and installing it will toss in plugins to 3ds Max so it will export to .X It does not do that out of the box.

Back to the original question... has anyone added a tech? is it hard? what do you have to do ? I've been wanting to make a couple of my own but not sure if I need to do anything special to "attach" it to the tree. I figure I can do most of the xml stuff just fine, borrowing the tags from an example.

What happend was you counted an extra lab. If you build over a lab you are not getting those beakers. So what you ended up with/really have has is (57 - amount of beakers from that one lab) and then that number gets the bonus. Edit seems you took that into account. But say for the sake of argument.. whats your industrial capacity slider at? 100%? If not that may be the cause.

It may just be the level I play at and the blasted Torians are usually one of my neighbors, but they spread like cockroaches. I expand pretty rapidly and they expand faster than myself and the other AIs playing at normal.

I can answer #2 a bit better. Yes you can. First, backup your data folder if you haven't already. You'll next want to modify a file called customplanets.xml. BTW, this is detailed on the wiki. Anyways open that up with a text editor and change the numbers .. Luckily Terrans/Earth is at the top look for a line like " 10 " (without the quotes) change the number to something suits your fancy like say 26. <img src="htt

This may be a big duh if you haven't done this. Me being a total noob (Newb or Nub) I didn't have python installed on my computer. All those import/export scripts are ran in python. Which can be obtained free over at www.python.org Like oh my god was I dumb. Solved my issues with getting stuff into Blender. I guess I didn't have to have python either to do civ 4 modding the game compiled the scripts and whatever.. so I never installed it or felt I needed to. Until now

Wow just wow. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors. I'm not skilled at graphics at all but seeing so many mods starting makes me want to try That will be so awesome. Do you plan on taking more art/graphics from later wing commander games? or "movies" /cutscenes ? You could not only do a mod to change 'sandbox mode' but also your o

Keep your eyes peeled for unofficial fan site stuff like Darth Griffin's Galactic Core. www.thegalacticcore.com He's agreed (in another thread) to start hosting mods and stuff. Currently, there are several ships to look at and download if you like. I don't disagree with your post, just pointing out where you can start getting some ships So without further ado, I'd like to answer some questions before I go. <br

I disagree with the original post and other subsequent posts favoring it. So you're getting an option for no tech trading that's great. I'm sure you're going to like it and use it. In the meantime tech-trading already took a nerf hit. IF you do decide to trade techs theres a big disparagement, yours are worth garbage and theirs are worth tons. You even have to kick in booty on what should be a 1:1 trade (something relatively simila

Several things. Yes if you want planets to rebel to you placing influence bases so the planet falls in the radius of effect is a very good idea. Generally takes a few to do. Watch out. This sours a relationship. Next, your influence must cover 75% of the galaxy thats a lot. Placing bases on the fringe or frontier will help you expand it. Also building one out in the middle of no-where turns it to your color automatically....

So rather than blame thier design, company model or just the fates, they blame pirates. Amen. Moo3 *shudder* there's a piece of work that was a huge surprise to its fans. A bad surprise at that. No amount of copy-protection could stop people trying to get their money back at the retailer. <br/
