I think its a factor of what level the person is playing on. Easy game = easy flip, Tough game = tough to flip. No data to back that assertion up, other than a couple of observations playing once on easy and another on tough.
Supreme Shogun
I leave it for later. Mars suxorz on the PQ scale. I wholly agree and use the strategy posted in #2. I think its best to get that 10-12 in the next system over and have an early manu planet in addition to your homeworld.
Interesting Ideas. No tricking the AI! Hehe. Anyways having the latest defences is as important as the latest offenses. Once in a while you may not get the first shot.
Wiki's are cool. Can't wait to check it out
Stardock is the greatest.
I try to keep tax rate 'nominal' as possible.. but something like a recession or unexpected war hikes the taxes right back up.
Looks like good guys toys are broken.
Torians.. eww yuck. Even if they're nice they're influencing a huge chunk of the map.. I take them out first if someone else isn't after them.
The fun has just begun guys. Why don't you make some metaverse chars and join an empire ??
I've been watching Gamespot for theirs.. I went and gave it a 10 as my own ranking. I'll be amazed if they don't give a good score too.
Yeah I've not gotten far enough along in a game either campaign or sandbox.. usually crap hits the fan long before you can get that much research done.
Martyrdom for the cause. I don't bother with that usually.. If its a planet I want there'll be plenty of troops to take it for me.
Well if you won game there'd be a popup window that says would you like to post your game to the metaverse? Yes or No..
I brought this up at Beta. It was looked at. To me its not nearly as bad as it was.. Sometimes before you met a certain race due to being on other side of a large map, they already lost a war to their neighbor and surrendered.. Thus you never met one. To my knowledge the AI doesn't hang in the towel at the first ounce of trouble... After a thorough pounding it will not DELAY the inevitable. Seriously.. Try playing on Tough. You'll be glad to g
I have to say playing at difficulty it gets harder. Culture win on Easy those guys hand their planets over and still don't have a clue. Were as Tough/ Intelligent you really gotta fight for % of the map. I think its just fine where its at.
Nerf? It is a huge exploit. Read: Major Bug the devs didn't intend.
Isn't there a reset button ?
Wow that sounds like an exploit.
Time to fire up ol SmartException and sending them reports to Stardock. Happen to me as well. First crash since I started playing the released version.
Ugh while the two reviews I read gave the game good scores. I didn't agree with their conclusions. Like the last paragraph. Seem to me he was dissin' GC graphics by not commenting on it. The graphics are sweet. The other one says that no MP is an Achilles heel. I don't know how many times we beat that dead horse and drug him around. I'm happy without MP. An Intelligent AI really makes up for all those lousy human MP experiences.
Yeah on worlds I'd go 1:1 farm to entertainment. Bonus food tiles... I build on them but may go 1:2 unless I've got stock exchanges or the best entertainment improvements. More people = more money from taxes. So encourage your empire to *ahem* procreate as much as possible.
that's insane a patch doesnt remove media files.
I haven't played anything larger than medium and have yet to see ONE.
I hear you. I would say one thing don't go the way of Blizzard.. It's long past due for an expansion to StarCraft. Warcraft 4 should be out too.. Diablo 3?? They total forgotten about the titles that got them to stardom. Their titles really need sequels. What about a Sci-Fi RPG? Gal Civ RPG? You know that'd be great to give us more of the GC story.. The RPG characters would in turn tell the story. Or a turn based s
I cannot ever say enough good things about Stardock. You're #1 in my book!
