How does one mistakenly buy objectdesktop ? Impulse is a better scenario for install/uninstall than what you have right now for all the other junk software you've installed each requiring more junk just to install/uninstall a single program i.e adobe,ms office,antivirus etc etc,where as impulse is the install/uninstall for many junk softwares,way i see it better to have less junk than more junk & impulse serves it's purpose well

Acronis 11 can install to differential hardware anyone game to try it,only two other i can't stress enough is you need more than one backup & ffs don't just transfer it by drop n drag you run a greater risk of data corruption,2nd personally i have no faith in differential or incremental backups one time images i've found are more reliable restore wise,only thing about acron 11 i don't like is it's a slow dog on a single 2.0ghz cpu.

Like any backup the only way to be sure if it will work is to attempt restore even more so if your archive is being transferred to another storage device as it gives even more chance of corruption in the end it's a lot less hassle to re-sub than piss about trying to find an archive that'll work

Ok my 5 cents worth,link below is "process quicklinks 2 from" uniblue (microsoft certified partner)use it to learn what running processes you have more importantly to shut the crap down it also doubles as a security feature if your not sure what a certain process is,tho would be best to set to not run at start up,your process list you posted earlier showed a stack of unnecessary running processes,which in all likely hood some are back after the reinstall,things like itunes helper
