I guess it's just in my nature to be interested in how something works or doesn't work. Like I said, (to me) the issues I'm discussing in this thread just seem peculiar. I don't think is an easy it's as easy as saying... Well, MS Word doesn't auto translate text you type into another language because the capability just isn't there. The issues at hand are just wacky quirks. Maybe it doesn't bother other people, but it bothers me that WB just has these quirks. I gues

Taskmanager not updating while moving is simply the way WB per pixel works. Enquireing minds want to know why though... Will this ever change? Aperently I found out that all Windows that are not maximized (any appliation) while running a WB skin that's Per Pixel will not update. Isn't

Both of those reasons are a little weird to me. Because the skin apperently has sounds on it and it is a Per Pixel skin (I think) the sounds only show up when you disable Per Pixel support in the System window (the check mark) in WB5. When you take the checkmark out (enabling per pixel) the sounds go away. As for the second thing you stated, it only does this on non-per pixel skins. Since Task Manager doesn't update with Per Pixel skins am I to assume that that's

Yes, it properly supports it thank you very much. ATI X700 Mobility w/latest 6.2 Drivers and WB5 is the latest beta build from SDC. This is probably yet another one of those bugs I keep finding with WB5 that no one else looks for, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt until I hear from Neil or someone directly at SD.

Here's a weird one. Haven't had time to test it with other skins, but when I have Per Pixle enabled in WindowBlinds and use GT3 OS as a sking I don't get sounds on minimize and maximize of windows. When I turn Per Pixle off I hear the sounds. What's up with that? Also, with Per Pixle disabled if I bring up Task Manager in front of the WB5 skin window and drag it arround it has a hard time drawing the background behind the Task Manager window. If I turn Per Pix

Neil, any progress yet? Just to clarify again. If I use any of the first 2 skins provided by Microsoft the speed stepping is not an issue. It's only when I apply a skin other then Windows Classic or Windows XP.

Hey, all my games work too... that's not the point. The point is this. Between 3 PCs that I've tested the latest version of WB5 they all exibit different issues. So, it seems to me that different hardware configurations (same OS) play a big role on what's exposed in WB5's bag of bug tricks. Everyone gripes about everything... get over it... it's life. A good aspect on how things should be layed out lies in knowing how to properly place all of your dominos so that yo

Thank you. Just wanted to make sure this was still a priority. Also, about the 9 hour quote from Daiwa... Take a look on when I first started this tread and then come back. As for this forum being a place for support... seems to me that 99% of all the posts on here are about problems that users are having with WB, so it would be a good idea for SD to just start considering this fo

WB shouldn't try skinning anything that goes full screen anyway. At least that's how I would have programmed it. SD leaves too many holes to be filled in by the end user. If you ask me it's just attention to detail and innovation on resolving potential problems before the end user sees it that's lacking here.

BTW, do you have a ticket open with Stardock? That way you know a tech is working on it and you can track progress? Now that's funny. I've mentioned this to them several times and other things by calling in. Never got a ticket of any kind.

I did notice yesterday that sometimes it won't go into screensaver mode. Sometimes it does and then it comes out of it by itself... almost like something is going on in the background. Also, it never turns off the screen anymore... like it's setup to do.

Neil, just something I'd like to mention. When I saw this thread I decided to take a look and see what my explorer task was doing. For me, it's not increasing in the amount of memory it uses, but I noticed that it uses 2% of CPU usage every other second... constantly. It's like a ticking clock. With that said, with WB unloaded this doesn't happen. Also, I wonder if this is contributing to the CPU speed maxing I mentioned earlier in the "Everyone with Laptops" thread

Let's stick to JRSCCivic's topic, m'kay?... Yeah, this is not an OT thread. You girls want to bicker about signatures on posts and you can take it somewhere else. What is it with you guys? What are you like 12? <TABLE class=mb-Body-Quote-Table cellPadding=8 width

Through no fault of Stardock's, nVidia hasn't followed through, since you are quite correct - the only market they care about is the 3D gaming market. Rather unfair to hold SD responsible - we should be complaining to the video driver makers (I have, repeatedly) in order to get some of that "grease", though I'm not optimistic they'll do anything to address their 2D defi

Well, like I said, I really like WB5. That's why I still use it despite it's short list (to me anyway) of issues. I however would think that SD would go through this forum and seriously consider the bug reports we list here as the #1 things to look at fixing in progressive beta releases or final builds. I've even gone to the length of calling in the issues when I first saw them. This was right after the first release version of WB5. Still it's gone overlooked.

Wow, quite the development in this thread. Anyway, I didn't get a refund, nor did I ask for one directly to Neil. I like WB5, just wish a couple of issues would hurry up and get solved for me. Aside from the expansion arrows on my Favorites (items, not folders), taskbar graphs stopping when clicked (when using PerPixle skins), no skinning of the console window, and the CPU speed maxing issues I have no other problems that I can see. Like I've stated... I've seen 11 upd

I ought to point out that the non skinning of the command prompts is not a bug. Likewise the non updating of taskmanager while you drag it with per pixel skins is also not a bug. Its working as designed . You keep stating that and I'm sure we get it already... here's a question... Care you elaborate as to why it's thi

I had looked at the new AMD Turion powered laptops, they seemed a little buggy and latent issue than other mobile cpu's...Id go get something like a P4, I never have problems with it and OD No offense, but that's the tipical closed minded responce when it comes to the 2 Processor camps. I used t

Yeah, they will tell me that it's an application problem. Since no other app on my system causes this sort of issue with the speed stepping on my Turion all fingers currently point to it being a WB5 issue... it's the only vairable changed that causes the issue or solves it. As for the shared memory... X700 chipset with 128MB standalone... there's no sharing going on. I think it's something with the added stress of the video subsystem in WB5.

It's not Hyperpaint... that option wasn't even turned on for me. Turned it on... same thing. Decided to leave it off since I didn't see any visual differences with it on.
