My main gripe is... if you can't have a skinning app that skins EVERYTHING, then it's not all that. SD and WB is supposed to be the best... and it was until WB5 came out. The proof is in the puddin'... 11 beta builds after first release and it's still buggy as hell.

How do you disable hyperpaint? If I disable perpixel on any skin the problem goes away. I guess hyperpaint is also disabled when perpixel is disabled in the system info screen.
I've looked at it through the AMD apps and the speed is still increases. Not only that, but even before I doublechecked with the core apps from AMD I could tell the speed of the proc was maxed because the cpu fan was on max blow, which it does when the speed increases incrementally. Something is causing it to max the speed out... could just be the added stress on the video card capabilities of WB5, but something is doing it. Also, for those of you that are trying to get your AM
Smooth window frames, transparencies, glassy effects of bars, unlimited start button icon support... k, still whining... still want my command prompt skinned. So far I haven't seen a single skin that uses all of the PP capabilities and those that do still don't look all that. Maybe you can list all the wonderful features we aren't seeing yet....
I have to reopen to view the current speed. It happens with all skins as long as they are running under WB5. I tried disabling PP support, but that had no affect. Apperently it's not tied arround the PP support of WB5. If I unload WB5 it goes back to normal opperation. Also, as a side note, someone on the notebook forums was having the same issues with their Turion laptop not speed stepping down... they had no idea what was causing it. I asked them if they wer
That's not the point, but thanks for the suggestion. WB4.6 skinned the prompt all day long and if you had a skin that would do window tranparency that would work as well. Taking that feature away from WB5 just to implement PP is just stupid to me. I'm sorry, but I just don't see what the big deal about PP is. At first I was exited to see all the transparent frames and such, but now it's just anoying... people designing skins just aren't using it to full effect and that
I want my freaking MS-DOS Prompt to get skinned. I know the details behind this not working in WB5 so save your breath if you're just going to state that SD disabled this in WB5. I know this already. My gripe is that... I WANT IT TO WORK AGAIN!!! I didn't buy WB5 as a downgrade. Fix this on the next beta build please. This is getting old. F your PerPixel abilities... if you want to impress me skin the shell prompt and make the window transparent capable.
Back to the top people... Still waiting on a fix for this.
That is perfectly normal behaviour for WB5 per pixel skins. Would you please let us know why? I just tested by disableing Per Pixle in WB and it performs normaly. Please explain why this is a limitation with PP enabled.
Maybe it's the userbase that's causing SD to release weak software huh?
What's the point of this forum if not to report the problem to SD? I've listed multiple issues on these forums and sometimes Neil pops on to give his input or state that a fix is comming. I vote that the developers read these forums a little more.
SD, are you going to get a fix for this in the next release?
I guess no one cares about security huh?
ForceWare Release 80 Version: 81.98 Release Date: December 21, 2005 WHQL Certified That's the latest Nvidia drivers. 78.01 is not up to date. Could be the drivers, could be something else. Get the new drivers and see where you are from there. Video drivers is the #1 thing to keep up to date when playing with video intensive apps like WB5 is now. Damn, I just realized you seem to work for idsoftware. I'm surprized you do
I'd like to know why in the world would you not encrypt the password field in the registry key for Stardock Central. The password is plainly visible in the registry key and can easily be stolen by anyone executing a registry read function of said key. Not cool.
Actually there are performance issues with WB5... at least on my system anyway. It takes my AMD Turion cpu and maxes it's speed to 2.0GHz whenever I have WB5 loaded. This is in another thread I have going on. So far I seem to be the only one with this perticular processor technology because no one has stepped up to bat with a Turion laptop... let alone one that's exhibiting the same issues.
Does the Fesco skin have per-pixel? Currently have the Fresco skin loaded and it's not doing it (working correctly). The question now is WHY does it do it with per-pixel? Is it some limitation you built in or some performance thing? I'm starting to think that this "per-pixel" feature of WB5 is starting to impare WB's finer qualities that we've loved over the years. It either needs some major optimization to it's code or something. This is jus
Why was it removed? That was the best part about WB. It was the only one that could skin the console window. I don't know about you, but that was the number 1 reason why I switched to WB from StyleXP. You seriously need to bring that back... no "might". Without that feature alone I consider WB5 a downgrade myself. I can't even use the full transparency skins because the Favorites in IE can't do it so it just make is look like crap every time I hit that menu
Have you tried using the latest drivers set for your card? I'm not saying that's going to fix it, but if everything is up to date then it's easier to point the finger at WB. I keep all my stuff updated monthly.
WB reapplies skin at startup; do you mean that WB config opens and applies skin, or do you see Luna first then the skin you have selected. I state this because if I reset the taskbar size to small on reboot (yes, you were right I have it set to default of skin chooses size) it goes back to large (default for xbox skin). If I manually
There we go, finally some people having the same issues. My system (Acer Ferrari Laptop) is now low on system performance for what it is. There is no way in hell WB5 is going to max it out. This is definatly something that SD needs to look into. It's definatly a problem. Like my OP stated... I get the lock on a single click as well as when dragging. It seems the problem is with the click and not the click and drag. Something is causing this that's linked
Hello... are you guys looking into this? Also, this is not dependant on what skin you use. As long as WB5 is loaded it does this. I'm not making these things up people, but would like to think you're working on a fix.
OK, I have heard all the "Favorites is a toolbar and we can't skin it" things from Neil and everyone, but it's just a major drawback of WB5. With skins like Dreamland that have full transparency it makes IE's Favorites menu look like crap! I'm sure if you really put your heads together you can find a way to skin that menu as well. It's just nasty to have a production build of one of your products that lacks features that a previous version of WB had. This goes right in
Run WB4.6... no more problems. WB5 seems to be the BomDiggiddi.
How come every time someone mentions a problem it's automatically a Windows bug problem and not WB5. These issues were not evident in version 4.6 and also, when WB5 in unloaded the problems go away. This evidentally points the finger directly at WB5. I don't care if there's some small hidden issue in Windows overaly that causes this, my main gripe about issues such as these is that WB5 seems to just find and show A LOT of Windows issues that aren't evident with version 4.6.&nbs
