The one thing I can think of MsPooma is checking with Microsoft Security update. Try and find out if this virus W32 IRC boot virus is removed by the MS Malicious Software Removal tool. Microsoft's Web Site will do a free security scan of your computer and if it recognizes the virus they'll remove it for free also. I hope that helps. You should also do a Google search on "W32 IRC boot virus". That sometimes pulls up useful information on how to irradicate a virus.

Oh there is something most likely loading in your startup that's causing this. I found the clue in your comment number 8 where you say on startup everything is fine for a minute or 2 and then the screen goes black and the wallpaper is jagged. That's is exactly what I would expect from a program loading during startup. That is the temporary black screen, but not the jagged wallpaper from a properly functioning program. Tune-Up Utilities 2006 includes a startup manager program that works well

Well, MsPooma it's got me stumped. Do you use a registry cleaner? If so use it. If not get one. Because that's my next suspicion a corrupt registry. I use Tune-Up Utilities 2006, a purchased program. Island Dog and some others around here have mentioned other programs. Tune-Up Utilities 2006, I think, is available on CNET Download and has a 30-day free trial offer. I have more questions does this problem only occur when displaying wallpapers? If you opened one of your programs and leave it displayed for awhile does the same problem occur? Did you run dxdiag? Running dxdiag would be wise at this point. The problem you describe might be the anti-aliasing feature going bad, but, it were that, I would expect the same problem to occur with other software that uses anti-aliasing. Well, ah, thanks for the screenshot. Doesn't tell me much though. Do you use Wallpaper XChange? Have you tried other wallpapers? How about no wallpapers? Have you checked the jpg of the wallpaper in question to see if it has become corrupt? It looks like it may have. lol

Hey all. I also ran into the same problem you described when I purchased this. It is probably some type of server timeout problem. I somehow lucked out last night and the download completed using SC. Sounds like a graphics driver problem for your video card, but I'm no expert, it's just a wag. Anyway bring up the Window Blinds program, select System Information on the left, do a clipboard copy, and then paste that into the reply box and post it. Then wait to see if someone sees your post. If you mean the Start that fades in and out on lower left screen, it doesn't bring up the Start menu. For some reason its configured as a Trash Recycler, but doesn't work. In DesktopX Builder I reconfigured it, right click on the word Start, select Properties, on the General tab select Add..(under the Additional Abilities window) then select Start Menu 2. Apply it and you will have a functioning Start button. Everything else works 100% okay on my machine.

I'll try to help a little. The files called ico are used by Icon Packager although Windows and some other Stardock programs can use them also. These usually come in theme sized files that you download. Icon files used by Icon Packager as themes change all or most of the icons used by Windows.
