My story is different from those presented. I'm not much of an author. I can't sing. I'm not much of an artist. But, what I can do is tinker. If something intrigues me, I dig into it to see how it works. I ask lots of questions of others when my learning involves others or of myself. Pulling things apart and putting things back together you might call it. So since I've only had OD for almost a year my first exposures were to DX themes. At first I just downloaded a few DX theme

Try right clicking your object and selecting properties. From the General tab where it says Object Type: to the right of that click Change and from the top drop down arrow where it right now probably says layer change it to Shortcut. If you want a file shortcut, just browse for the program you want your object to start. If you want a folder shortcut, just select folder shortcut and browse for the folder you want your object to open.

Simple. From DX Builder select Configure DesktopX from the DesktopX Helper or right click the DesktopX Builder icon the the systray and select Configure DesktopX Builder. From the DesktopX Builder - Settings display dialogue box select the Desktop tab at the top. From there click on the Wallpaper bar. Choose the wallpaper you want. When you are done changing the DesktopX Theme wallpaper to the one you want do a Save Desktop As... This way you can give your modified theme a new name and kee

I'm not support, but I think there is a setting in WB to not use a wallpaper should a Blind come with one. First of all are you using the Trial version? I'm assuming you are. If you bring up the WB configuration screen (the main page) and look to the left for Basic Settings. Select it and then look under Enhance Desktop elements and uncheck Apply any wallpaper supplied - that should fix your background problem. I'm assuming this option is available in the trial version - I haven't looked at

Well thanks for the responses. So far everything seems to be okay. The symptoms my PC was exhibiting was Norton began acting strangely. There were numerous messages that a recent attempt to attack my computer had been blocked (unauthorized port accesses). A windows system program was flagged by Norton for attempting to make a WEB site access (very abnormal). And frequent disk drive thrashing (the hard disk would run and run for no apparent reason). My guess is my system was being hijacked.

Awhile back I've read posts regarding Viruses and Trojans and Spyware etc. Basically the message was one security package isn't enough. The people who make, market, and sell these things certainly have created that impression. And, the advice here was that using a few good packages might do the trick.
