The dropdown boxes when creating a game (galaxy size, game type) don't close if you click other buttons, or even when moving to other menus. For instance, if you open the dropdown for gametype, and then go back to the main menu, when you return to the galaxy setup screen the dropdown will still be open. Very minor, but an oddity. Perhaps by design?

I was curious if the final build will have a loading screen for the main menu? It's obviously not game-critical, and I'm used to it now, but I can imagine someone new wondering why they can see some buttons but not others for a little bit. No obvious reason to it from the user's POV. Anyway, here's hoping your crunch isn't too murderous.

There is what looks to be a button next to the mini-map zoom buttons that, when clicked, pops up a message box saying that it isn't implemented yet and that it's ObjectID is being written out to the debug file. It might be preferable to just have nothing happen when it's clicked.

Just got an odd CTD. I haven't gotten the "Endless turn" bug before (turn button depresses, and never comes back), so I thought this might be it. I pressed the turn button, AI ships move. A pirate ship comes up to one of my starbases and is about to attack when everything stops. I'm not sure how the Endless Turn bug usually ends, but in my case, it was a CTD as my system ran out of pagefile. 2 gig in ~2-3 min.

I don't just want to change where "My Documents". I want to change the entire user-data directory. Under windows, user data goes into C:\Documents and Settings\$USER It seems like MS only did a partial fix if they only let you change C:\Documents and Settings\$USER\My Documents. If I could, I would map the entire C:\Documents and Settings to elsewhere. Better yet would be the ability to map individual user to different places.

Well there you all go, shooting my arguments out of the water. Could I then amend my request to a little string telling me where the game will be saved? What prompted my original request was having to search all over creation for where my savegames were. For a long time, it didn't even occur to me to check "My Documents", because I don't use that folder for anything. On a margina

Actually, not just save games, but the entire GalCiv2 folder in My Documents... I always hate it when anything uses that folder. If windows allowed it, I would turn it off. I have my Windows installation on a very size-limited partition, and when anything starts stuffing things into it, I run out of space there quickly. I don't mind if it's the default, as I imagine the majority of users don't care, but it's always been a peeve of mine wh

Is this when you conquer a HOMEWORLD of another race? They have the "Civilization Capital" improvement instead of the "Initial Colony" improvement (which has a 25 maint cost). Can anyone confirm this? What caused me to write that was indeed the homeworld of a minor race. I didn't notice/check other p

If you put your mouse cursor over the approval rating it will pop up with what is causing it. It tells us what is causing it, but those things vary to such a degree as to make that information feel almost useless. For instance: in my last game, on my home planet, with 10.72 b, and a tax rate of 68%, I had -158 from taxes. The next turn, I had

Bug or feature? Colonies that you conquer are not required to pay maintenance. Planets that you colonize pay 25 maintenance.

If I click on one of my planets that has ships in orbit, and then I click on an uncolonized planet, it shows ships in orbit (same ships as on my planet). If I select those ships, instead of the Launch button, there's the Speak To button, but it doesn't do anything. Clicking on empty space does not cure the problem. If I click in space and then go back to the uncolonized planet, it still displays my ships in orbit. The only way to show not

Try using gcconfig to play in a window instead of fullscreen. Oddly enough, I found increasing the resolution to my desktop res (1280x1024) now lets me alt-tab back in. Funky. Anyway, I'd still like to be able to take screenshots without having to leave the game. I also ran into some CTD

The sticky for "All beta testers read this!" states that we shouldn't post new bugs in someone else's post. Yet we're compiling these massive bug lists (4D list initiated by Icewyng is already at 41 posts). Are these massive lists prefered by Stardock? If so, shouldn't the sticky reflect that?

Typos: - In the description for the influence bonus tile on one of my planets, it says I would get the bonus if I built a "cultural distract" there. While I suppose an Embassy could be argued to be a distraction, I suspect the correct word is "district". - In the UP vote for the star-faring tax (colonies inside other empires), "permanent" is spelled "perminant". <br

Is it possible to set it up so that my arrow keys will move the camera around the map? Or make it so I can scroll faster - I saw the slider for mouse scroll speed, but I want it faster still. Diagonally? Most important to me is mouse scrolling though.
