Have you tried changing the desktop color by where wallpapers are applied? That might work though I'm not sure.
There was no original thread, he emailed me, but I can't send messages right now, I can only recieve them so I thought I might be able to catch him here, sorry for the confusion.
HI, I can't send email right now, I can only recieve it. Hope you happen to read this: ok for 1, you have the "Link to" attribute enabled on all your buttons. This is used for mouseover effects and such, so if your minimize button is linked to your close button, it will be hidden when you apply the skin. To do a mouseover button, it's function must be "Do nothing just show an image" rather than "Closes window" or whatever. Remove the "Link-to button" attribute and they will show up. fo
Try right-clicking on the link, and then "save target as" then apply it by the add button in the display properties.
I've seen this too, but it goes away if I close/reopen the display properties and then change to a different skin, and it's fine when I go back to the problemed one. Looks like you've probably been through that already by the looks of it though, if your uninstalling and all.
I think I know... 1. pull up the theme editor 2. highlight the bar that is to be the popup, not the popup object. 3. click the sizing and positioning tab. 4. click "auto hide" under the docking heading and choose whichever best fits. also check out more sizing and positioning options below that. Not sure if that's what your after, but hope it helps
Check out the wincustomize store, I think they have it cheap. Not sure about shipping though
Got it, I'll email ya in a while
could you post your skin somewhere? or send it to me? I might be able to help more if I could see it. Just make sure you have the image assigned to the button. And keep in mind this is the hardest of the things to do. [email protected]
Hope you try again, and I hope I didn't confuse ya too much! WB skinning can get very frustrating. The best thing to do is to look at other skins and see how they did it.
Ok, there are mouseover buttons in that skin too, check through all the buttons and make sure that every one has the image you made assigned to it. If not change the image or delete the button, whichever you prefer, might want to make a backup somewhere about now if you haven't already.
Did you start with the LUna skin?
You should be able to edit your details by doing what I said, maybe you misunderstand me? You can also edit them in notepad or from the code view in SS. It's the first section either way. "Menu highlighed text (XP only)" should change the mouseove color. If you want an image there ad "Panel Item Background" You want mouseover titlebar buttons? You need to add another button with a "link to" the original b
The mouseover is in (on right) Miscellanious, colors (on left) menus, look for the ones that say (xp only) The min,max and close buttons will be in (on left) Window borders, titlebar buttons. To add your info just highlite on the left the first icon called "skin name" and an the left you will see the info you can edit <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0
MHO? Using the word "slut" in the title of this thread is more offensive than any drawing displayed here.
Create an Item, anything at all then under the display tab you will see the second box is called "display as" one of the options in the drop down box will be separator.
I listen to npr, You can find it streamed at http://www.npr.org By far the best (IMHO)
I could do the objectbar!
That's ObjectBar? I'm pretty sure anyways, just restart the program and see if that helps.
Another thing to NEVER DO: Do not overlap the margins on the top titlebar, it will make your skin non-functional to say the least. Great thread Shmoopy! This one should get a sticky at the top of the board
Hey, Sign me up! I'm a newbie to this, but I'd love to help out! Or just to listen in would be a great learning experience and a chance to get to know you all better! [email protected] [Message Edited]
A67, to change that color, look under miscellanious, colors, menu, Menu Highlighted text (XP Only), that's the one you want
It cannot be done....yet. Hopefully one day we will be able to. You can skin the background of it, and the arrow, but the mouseover will always be a color. Blackcomb does one of the better jobs of dealing with the problem, but when you highlite it, that's still just a color, not an image.
I finally got the memebership the other day, they are under "subsriber resources" on the right hand side of the page or in stardock central under wincustomize.
