Reply to Taskbar Windows 10 in WindowBlinds WinCustomize Forums

If you want to use WB8 on Windows 10 anyway, just add a "Do not skin this app" exclusion for explorer.exe (in C:\Windows\) in settings. The task bar won't be skinned, nor will any of the windows file explorer windows, but everything else I tried that was skinned under 8 still seems to be skinned fine under 10. You'll need to restart explorer for changes to take effect. Obviously, it's use at your own risk, since everyone is saying not to do it.

I had the install problem that others had, but I was able to solve it. I think it was because when I was on Windows 7, I had WindowBlinds 7 installed, then I followed the standard upgrade to Windows 8. WindowBlinds 7 was still listed in Add/Remove programs even though it wasn't active, and all of my previously installed skins were there. I fixed the problem by running the WindowBlinds 8 installer again, which asked me to reboot. After the reboot, the skin I had activated earlier w

The new Stardock activation program doesn't appear to work through a proxy, so I can't activate my copy at work. I sniffed the traffic with Wireshark and it wasn't even trying to go through the proxy, it was just connecting directly which won't work. WindowBlinds 7's activation program worked fine when I used it at work a few months ago, and so did Impulse a couple years ago. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I will work around the problem so I don't ne
