First off, a big thank-you to all our Founders for their assistance in Galactic Civilizations III's successful alpha program! The pages and pages of feedback, bug reports, ideas, and discussion have been invaluable to us. With the beta's imminent launch, the Founders' program is no longer available. The Galactic Civilizations III beta will be available for purchase very soon (Thursday August 14, if all goes acco
For the user of the founder elite, will we need to do anything, remove the alpha copy and install the beta copy, will steam automatically do this for us? Or will we get a view of 2 Gal Civ 3 in our steam games?
Nope, Steam will handle it all. You'll get an automatic update and be good to go.

It's not that I don't want to answer all your questions, Gaunathor. It's just that I haven't yet! I honestly don't know if I want to put that first dev stream up. I'm pretty embarrassed about the technical issues I was fighting for a lot of it. Hell, I was just watching some old ones and getting all angry at myself for somehow not having the game quite full-screen. Maybe at the one-year anniversary I'll post it and we can a
So, how do you get these new commander only items? Do you find them randomly? Can you buy them from your cities? Something else?
They're random drops. Re: modding the XML and achievements -- Yeah, you still get achievements. I can personally confirm that, as I like to play around with the XML myself when Derek isn't fast enough on the balance changes for my liking ;)

No I mean pausing the game is useful for taking screenshots. Though I may be confusing your question with a pause cheat I use for taking screenshots. I use the built-in screenshot function (PrintScreen key) because I can tell it to save as .png, which is much preferable when I'm generating promo material like the screens that we send out to press etc.

Great thread. Also, TIL that everyone plays LH very differently ;) For instance, Guild Warehouse is stupid powerful if you can make yourself not build every building in every city -- a town with only the food it needs to grow plus market/tax office/well/inn can generate an insane amount of cash off of Warehouse/Produce Wealth from a very early point in the game. Anyway, like I said elsewhere I'll point this discussion out to Derek. I don't think any radical revamps of

Love the city upgrade discussion. I'll definitely point out that thread to Derek if he hasn't seen it already. On champ XP sharing -- the problem with having everyone get full XP is that with how limited (easy) XP for heroes is, it becomes the obvious and overbearingly powerful strat to always stack your champs up to maximize the (easy) XP you can farm off of quests/lairs/wildlands. And on a thematic level, LH is more about having heroes lead armies rather than D&D-style b

FWIW, I don't actually know if Derek has the tall/wide contrast as a design priority in LH, and even if he does it's much less of a focus than in Civ. I tend to agree that the most advantageous path is to grow as wide as possible within reason, even with the bell tower/townhall nerfs. I do think it's less overwhelmingly strong now, though, which is good in my eyes as it evens things out a bit between empires -- which then leads to more awesome wars. On city level-up upgrad
We need a high-end unrest reducing building that can be built in any city with all the nerfs you are doing to unrest. (requiring Alliances or some unused civics tech)
Granted I mostly play on Medium maps, but I haven't had any issues with the unrest nerfs -- but then I always prioritize growing Fortresses into Prisons. Are you having issues on small/medium maps, or larger? I ask because I genuinel

Arguably the biggest patch to date for Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes is now available for opt-in beta testing. Frogboy has made huge improvement to many areas of the AI, Commanders get new class-specific items, rival sovereigns are a lot chattier, and balance has gotten a hard look across the board. Patch notes can be found here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/455808/page/1/ LH 1.7, like all of S
