i have yet to see this on a patch's list of fixes... has this been resolved?

I am not bumping old threats needlessly, I am bumping BUG REPORTS that have NOT been resolved. Just because it's old doesn't mean it's a resolved bug. If I accidently bumped a FIXED bug then by all means let me know and ill take it off my watch list. This one is the LEAST important "bug" I found, so small that its barely a bug but is still of some significance. The default colony ship comes with a bunch of empty space and very poor configuration, that makes the AI weaker compared to a p
first of all, again PERSONAL MODDING IS NOT THE WAY TO TREAT BUGS! Second of all, the NLC is supposed to become available BEFORE discovery sphere, and be BETTER THEN discovery sphere. If you mod it to come after you are weakening neutral comapred to good or evil. This is not a solution to the bug, its a workaround, I know how to make workarounds. This is a bug and should be fixed by the developers in the standard game so that you could play a standard non modded game, have it work, and
ah, it still doesn't work properly, because if you get NLC before discovery sphere (which you can!) it doesn't work properly...
it should always automatically upgrade to NLC when it is avilable as it is the best research building in the game. It does not. it needs to be fixed. Even assuming you DID manage to get it to work with scripts, it should still be done in the official scripts and work for official games.
thats not a fix... discovery sphere is WORSE the NLC. How is it a fix to pay alot of money to DOWNGRADE Your NLC to discovery sphere? NLC is cheaper, cost less in maintenance, and produces more research... I fiddled with it forever, there is no solution with the scripts, they need to change the code so that the scripts COULD be changed to fix this. They already adjusted the scripts and it STILL did NOT solve this...
Is there any intention to support 9:16 720p HD output? I really really REALLY wanna play this on my projector/my parents HDTV. I can play most my games on it but galciv doesn't even wanna run (it requires a min resolution of 1024x768, which 1280x720 doesn't meet...)
thats also entirely incorrect. YOU CAN have it autoupdate, i did that AND its been included in a patch at my request... The problem is to make it autoupdate CORRECTLY regardless of the order at which its researched. An item can only autoupdate to one item. You can't have a "update C to D if only D is available, to E if only E is avilable, to E if both are avilable, and upgrade D to E if E is available" script. You can only have a "Upgrade order: A, B, C, D, E" etc... So they already pat
no seriously, this is carpal tunnel in the works... for the largest maps you need an option to turn it off...
so.... any intention to fix this?
bump? come on already, someone else post in here...
the problem is that the surrender is arbitrary and doesn't take into account your relationship with the race to which they surrender. The whole protectorate idea doesn't take into account the ability of the other race to stand up to you. Nations surrender so that their people be spared. This is nothing but a cheesy mechanic to make the AI look more human by making it do something that is very annoying that certain human players do out of spite because they know its a game. The key here
If I edit a post and then approve the changes the post is "compressed' with all the lines being put together as one huge line. Editing the post again shows it properly in the edit window but it will not display properly in the forum itself no matter how many times I tried. (happened to me on several posts). It happens both with IE6 and with Firefox 1.5.0.4
its not a copy protection, thats for sure. Regardless, make sure that its your PRODUCTION at 100% and not your TAXES! otherwise, try reloading, if it still doesn't work, contact tech support and send them a copy of your savegame.
what year is it? let's see... 22! (Just making sure, I am not letting myself be corrected about my age again!).
One of the main reasons for selling a used game is for environmental reasons. CDs are great pollutants and cannot be recycled. Another reason to sell is if you got the game without first playing it (possibly as a gift), played it, didn't like it (some people just hate TBS) and you want to pass it to someone else, some say they should be able to do it. This is different then pirating in that you don't sell the game to many people or distribute copies, you sell your original copy and discard yo
AWESOME! very very good idea... I am tired of breaking my wrist over this. I already disabled the "ask to upgrade starbase" option which helps immensly, but I still have to click on what I want to upgrade and where, and its WAYYY to much micro management. I often only use mining starbases and only on absolutely necessary items because I am so sick of having to click through it a million times (on larger maps)
oops.
well, the idea with the current system is to keep it simple. Your suggestion is more "realistic" and essentially does the same thing in terms of balance, but is much more complicated to keep track of for the player.
with just alittle more tech then TODAY (2006) self sustaining "floating" colonies should be possible (and without expansive support from a "home planet"). Mine astroids for raw materials, and build more and more of your colonies. I think it should be a non tile requiring improvement to planets that gives alittle extra benefits. It shouldn't be a major research and manufacturing and population center because of size constraints. Instead it should just give alittle minor benefits to the star. A
Why should good have greater morale and influence? Secret police forces do wonderful work in putting the squeeze on enemies of the state without and within, and I am certain the romans with their slaves and brutality were much more loyal to the roman empire then the selfclaimed "good" societies today. Not to mention, "good" societies are supposedly very "free" and "free" people tend to sow dissent and opposition to the government. I know some people who living in russia during the iron curtai
i think its a semi good idea. I would LOVE it with trade goods with a royalties plan (ie, pay per year of use) with an option to boycot empires from buying your trade goods. With tech it should be more limited. It should really be limited to low end tech. Alternatively, how about a UP notion that is voted for that forbids triangle trading...
