Ok people this is getting rediculous. If you buy the game second hand you are supposed to get the ENTIRE GAME. Which means both the Account and the Media and the box and documentation. If someone swindeled you its THEIR fault not stardock. You don't get a replacement serial for free just because someone sold you a copy without one. Heck they will even sell you a serial only at a reduced price. If you bought it at a STORE and it was second hand and the store didn't tell you then

They should REALLY note that this includes Dark Prophecy in total gaming net... This was almost a dealbreaker when it turns out its been there all along. Here is a question. Is this one game from which you play everything, or is it multiple games and you have to run each one seperately? If it is one game, is it seamlessly integrated?

Well, yes this is indeed the cause for this. Before it has been pointed out that this happens ONLY in NLC and it was said by a rep that it will not be fixed in the foreseeable future. I was pointing out here that this issue is larger then just NLC, as it seem to affect also conquest and trade and basically any out of order aquision. Also from my experience, if you DO get the intrim techs it will STILL not upgrade properly sometimes... (if you had aquired one of the tech's out of order).

well... this is quite obviously their civilization capital, it gives more morale, industry, influence, food and research then a normal colony would. Its like conquering a tech capital, you can have more then one as long as you conquer the extra ones... I THINK this might be intended (ie, you conquered their capital, now you get it to yourself)... but I might be wrong. One thing that might be problematic with this is: 1. To conquer their capital you had to bring billions of

first thing first... delete your ini setting file. I had the exact same problems.. after driver updates and downgrades, game updates and downgrades and alot of other pain I finally went and deleted My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\Prefs.ini and the game started working again... go figure.

At first I thought this was a bug related only to the neutrality learning center, and caused by the fact that you have two tech branches both leading to similar buildings. But yesturday I conqured some enemy planets and aquired new building tech, specifically virtual reality modules, and ended up with multiple structures from that tech tree on my to build list. That is, I could build both entertainment networks AND VR centers? (don't remember their exact name, the +morale structure, not the trad

i beleive he suggestd changing the config file that is saved in the save game... I haven't tried it (and I am probably never going to need to try it...) but its a nice workaround idea.

There are way to many cases in which buildings would not upgrade for one reason or another. A "upgrade all now" button somewhere in the menu that you could click to tell the game to scan all planets and try to upgrade all buildings would be an ideal workaround...

The NLC is the only building in the game that does not automatically upgrade properly once it is discovered. This is not a 'feature' and is not the inteded function therefore it is a bug regardless of why it is hard to fix or why the coding acts like this. It is not a game breaking bug but it does mean that the player has to spend quite a bit of time moving throug

Alright, the mockery beign tossed about here isn't really called for. -Thank you. Point is, it's not a bug. Just don't pick a color that you can't see on the interface. Because you know if we, say, prevented you from pi

no, it doesn't work at all. if you make it black half the interface does not appear at ALL. For example, the buttons for focusing production on a planet do not show up, etc.

34 Replies 9,396 Views

Look, its really simple, if black is the interface color, then it needs an outline, or the buttons should be made lighter. Yes yes its fun and cool to make fun of people instead of admitting there is a problem, we get it, har har! I don't see why this shouldn't be fixed just to exasperate anyone who wants a black interface, there is nothing inherantly stupid about wanting your interface to be black and its not the user's fault. And how exactly do you live and learn when you can even see

Every NEW player uses the basic designs, at least until they get better tech. Besides the core designs are meant to be PRETTY as you said, so why make them absolutely useless so that they will NEVER EVER be seen? in fact I have to go and obsolute every single core ship on every single game cause each one is absolutely and utterly useless, and I scrap or upgrade every single starting ship because those are useless too (since they are core design). Whats the point of those designs then? They are n

Yes, surrendering to someone who would massacre you makes no sense, or someone whom is out of range of your ships. How exactly do they manage that. Personally I would GREATLYY appreciate a no surrender option, and even more a REASONABLE surrender script. (but at least a no surrender option) For that matter, atomatically accepting a surrender doesn't make sense either... If I was the yor i'd rather annihilate all them fleshbags then accept them as citizens of the empire.

there is a way to make it upgrade perfectly, change the code so that the script will work. Its alittle harder then changing a script (30 seconds of work for a completely amature) but it is certainly doable. This bug has still not been resolved. In an attempt to fix it, it was added to the list of autoupgrade. Now instead of being completely excluded it WILL autoupgrade, but only from ONE building. If I recall correctly only discovery spheres will upgrade to NLC. But NLC is researchable

This isn't a lesser resolution, its a much GREATER resolution for a much larger and more expensive screen where the vertical lines are just alittle less then expected, its HD output. Heck even 1080p would be acceptable as most 720p projectors can downscale it to 720p. (although it will be a horrible drain on the GPU to render in that resolution) Yes I understand it will cause problems with the interface if it was forced to run this way, which is why I ask, why isn't there a widescreen i

"The game does not determine the highest grade building to upgrade to, it uses the Upgrade Target tag." I know! thats the whole problem, the mechanic doesn't deal well with multiple branches of tech in parallel. As such it does not upgrade properly under all circumstances, it works in your circumstance, it doesn't work in all of them. This is a bug, it needs fixing, what is it that you fail to understand?
