I noticed that in planets with a few population like 0,10 billion the population didn't grew 0,1 billion for week as stated in wikipedia.I really like this feature because it's very realistic that if you have small population it shouldn't grow as if you have 5 billion. But what is the threshold which below that population doesn't increase at normal levels (0,1 billion) but at a great slower rate not taking in account morale modifiers?

I hope devs have given priority to tech whoring which is for me the biggest problem in this game.A patch which would include only a no tech trade option or tech trade allowed only between allies would be a lot more appreciated than AI improvements, or fixing minor bugs. Please devs find a solution to stop tech whoring!
I know that minor races shouldn't play a major role in the game but i find minor races to be very weak.Their role in all my games is doing the role of milking cows if friendly or to be wiped out with a few ships by me or other races. In my opinion the problem is at the root because they can't colonize other planets, so they have always systems with very good planets that they don't colonize. So why don't give them at least the ability to colonize the planets in their star system, it's very stupid
About Korx i find them the most interesting race toward the others or at least their shape is really pretty and frightening. But the most interesting are Dark Yor.I would only that there is a scenario where there is the Dark Yor vs Yor war or a robotic war against the others, because they are really interesting and in my opinon better designed between minors.Just one question for developers: is this minor race designed to play a major role in a future expansion or a sequel or their introduction w
You know, I recently changed my racial traits to significantly up my soldiering ability. This coupled with high population makes your worlds near invulnerable. Playing against the Dreadlords was a real change when they couldnt take my planets (even though they controlled the area around it). Bet they felt stupid for only bringing 10 soldiers then <
I have played siege and i assure you that it's the most difficult mission of all campaign.I have played at Tough and i can say that stopping Dreadlords is nearly impossible because they have ships too much powerful for yours. You should try to invade sometimes one of their planet to gain advanced technology, with dreadlords use the tactic of scorched earth using mass driver on planet conquered because it's very hard to retain it on the long run.Research weapons, speed and range technology with th
Probably it could be also exploitable for the metaverse because i noticed that the best way to have superships like it is having ships which are balanced between speed and weapons, because while having 32 attack instead of 16 is better; engines assure that you can do multiple attacks at turn so your ships will be quickly overpowered.Fighting with Dreadlords was like shooting on the red croos imagine if instead of Dreadlords there were other races <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/s
Defenders do indeed have a big disadvantage, that is, when it comes down to ground combat. In real life, I would assume that the same thing would happen. The invader can invade you because there is no ship defending the planet. This implies that they have air superiority and that would help the invasion force a lot. Air superiority is without a
I also think that planetary invasion is a bit unbalanced for invaders and soldiering is a weak ability if compared to economy or research.Anyway there isn't a formula for advantage factor or it isn't yet posted but number of troops is not counted in AF.AF is influenced by: -invaders got every time 5 points to advantage factor due to air superiority -AF is influenced by soldiering, tech level and also courage (but i haven't any feedback about it) -number of troops doesn't influence
No offense, "Scumbag509", But that's utter nonsense. Plenty of other games are not clear about htings, it's just what people are used to. They aren't "correct" any more than I'm "correct". We aren't debating facts. We are debating preferences. Different people have different ideas on how a computer game's economic system should work. There is no single "Correct"
I was playing apocalypse campaign mission at tough level.Dread Lords were a true pain for me and my coalition because every time i took one of their planets after 4-5 turns they managed to retake the planet very easily so in the middle of the game i was very pessimist about winning the mission. After i discovered some techs to enable the construction of large hulls and better beam weapon (sorry but i don't remember the techs) i was able to build a ship which couldn't stand to powerful dreadlords
A. Human style B.Drengin style C.Altarian style D.Torian style E.Yor style Personally i find that torian style is the best it's so exotic
I noticed only 2 flaws in AI for now but in my opinion are very important: -At the beginning of a game they focus only in colonization and starbase construction and build only a few ships so AI is nearly undefended if u go for an early rush -AI isn't very aggressive when i have an undefended planet, or i have an entire sector which can be wiped out easily. For example in my last game i was allied with altarians and playing a two war front against drengin and yor in one part of the ga
I see. Well, that was a mouth full, now wasn't it? I'm not just getting after you personally man, it's just really, REALLY annoying to me when a game comes out that takes like, 2 to 3 years to make, and all everyone can do is complain, complain, complain. If you don't like the game, then why the hell don't you just make your own?! It's ridiculous how much whining and comp
In my last game i had a xenophobia event.Anyone can tell me what are the effects in the game?
As in the title of the thread i had a xenophobia event in my last game but has any effect in the game???
Well every race has different hulls to start with but they all use the same parts (jewlery). This is not completely true because there are five types or race hulls human, drengin, altarian, torian, yor for now
As frogboy said is not the economic system that is broken and it doesn't need to be reworked. But i second the opinion of other people that the game needs truly a better information system because the relation cause-effect is never clear. But i would also add that as is the game now the problems doesn't affect only the "economic"part of the game but affects the FULL GAME and it's a fact.In the game for now there are a lot of HIDDEN FEAUTURES that needs to be explained.Let's give some examples<br/
That tactic really seems like a bug to me. About it frogboy said that it was cheesy but it was better than using mass driver with only 1 troop on the troop transport and lowering the PQ of a planet. About it i totally agree with him. What in my opinion should be done is at least strenghten a bit soldiering ability which is very weak for now. I
Just to add to what Marioflag said.... It basically comes down to two major "real world points". For military technology, any USA defense company that wants to sell products internationally can do it, but the tech level has to be 1 or 2 levels behind current. And this is not just a "few" technologies that give us the edge, it is everything. They are very seri
Turning tech trading off just because you can't stop yourself ruining the game for yourself seems absurd. Clearly i wasn't asking that a patch should be posted only to resolve my problems i was speaking also for other people like me which feel that tech trading is a big problem. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#
Anyone feel that invasions are a bit overpowwered due to air superiority advantage?+5 to advantage factor in my opinion is a bit too much because if u add special tactic invasion invader could have really a great advantage also if has worst soldiering.Using mass drivers is very powerful at the beginning of a game because u have every time a minimum advantage factor of 10-15 in the worst cases. So isn't better if air superiority advantage factor could be toned down to +3 or +4 ?
I'm really happy that ninlarr experience has proven that AI races have their own specificity.Frogboy can i ask you another question about Korx (which is my favourite race)? In race description Korx have strong economy and high defection rate. Should i assume that this high defection rate is a penalty to loyalty or what?
Man i can say you that 10 days ago there was a poll about who wanted tactical battles and if i'm not wrong there was nearly 50 against tactical combat and 5 or 6 for.So it's a bit unpopular its introduction
This night i tried to play my first metaverse to test 1.0x.10 and see if AI fixes implemented in last build had finally found a solution to TECH TRADING. Well i can say that while the AI is a bit smarter than before, the tech trading problem is worsened. From what i have seen it is a lot harder to get technologies from other races but other races continued to tech whoring between them, so it is now a lot harder not to lag behind in technology. So my suggestion is that there are a lot of nice
