i would know what are the effect when u decide to use money to destabilize another civilization.destabilization affects only morale or other aspects are involved?
marioflag
i wonder if senate elections are influenced by some factors or depends only by morale. for example if i choose the war party and lose the last elections can i influence the elections in a way favourable to war party declaring war to another race; if a war is in a stalemate can it influence the rise of populists?if i build a lot of trade routes will it boost mercantile party strenght?summarizing rise of your opposition parties is random or depends from events and your way of play?
i will surely play at intelligent AI and no advantage for me or AI. I really don't like to play with advantages or disadvantages while i'm really sure that i will be defeated in a few time
I'll throw my 2 cents ... * * * Civilization 4 works great here. Never had a problem. It never crashes for me. If you get enough people you will have horror reports for any games. I read somewhere here that GalCiv 2 doesn't work out of the box on Windows 2000 in non English. Probably only 10 people here have that problem. But if you sell a zillion copies like Civ
There is no way that you can compare both games in a reallistic way. Civ4 is a game about one planet many races, Galciv 2 is a galactic game where there are many planets, many races, ship design and so on and so forth, so it is kind of hard to compare two games that are very much different. these are both TBS games i'm not comparing halflife2 a
yes same for me
Dumbed down compared to what? Certainly not Civilization III, which had even worse AI, stiffer diplomacy, and even less distinguished civilizations. The combat system is a bit less obvious, but I happen to think Civ3's was worse because it was both unrealistic and unbalanced. Of course, I'm pretty sure GC2 will blow any Civ game away. But I prefer to see them as com
in my opinion the greatest difference between galciv2 and civ4 is the deepness of gameplay. civ4 is a very good ggame and truly deserve the award of game of the year, but in terms of gameplay it is a lot dumbed down just to make the game more commercial: -intelligence is a joke -diplomacy is a bit rigid -combat system is totally irrealistic but very well balanced -civilizations aren't so much distinguished in terms of deepness the game lacks of atmosphere, wonder v
it's far different too from different national ships. we are speaking about alien race it seems very unfair that they share the same hulls. anyway it's a minor problem that will be surely solved soon.
Peace Phoenix it's not a problem but jpf is right every major or minor race should have at least a unique hull. it adds a lot to race characterization.
it would be very good if in a future bonus pack could be included a video of 20-30 mins which tells all history behind galactic civilizations. i don't know if it will be possible but probably will be the best bonus pack we could obtain from stardock. if other people like the idea we could make a poll where we demand stardock to do this specific video as a future bonus pack. P.S.: I'm not good in programmation or informatics so i don't know if doing a video like it would request too mu

as in the title thread will you play first campaign or personalized game? i'm very undecided up to now.
let us give our dear developers some free time which truly deserve
there is in the game any option to boost planetary defense during an invasion. i don't mean planetary improvements as (omega defense),i mean options pickable during an invasion, attackers have (tidal waves, planetary bombardament, core fusion), but i don't know if defense have any.
so let's suppose that there are a fleet of 3 corvette attackers against 1 dreadnought in defense how the battle will develop? 3 corvettes will do 3 different attacks but dreadnought can attack all ships in a single turn or to attack all 3 corvettes will have to wait 3 different attack turns?
when some of the bad events occur(race civil war, zealots which try to release a monster, terrorist civilization), it's only your task to face these events or other major races will collaborate (directly or indirectly) to resolve the issue? another question which interest me in case that a civil war break out inside a civilization(screenshot of arcean civil war) can you establish diplomatic relations with both factions? as example arcean rebels faction will be a minor race or another major
so defenses are cumulative for example a 36 beam attack fighter , against a fighter with 12 beam defense 9 mass drivers defense and 16 missile defense will get a total defense of (12+3+4)=19. another question is for every point attack suffered a ship will lose 1 hit point or there are other calculation to measure it?
i have some questions about ship design.first of all can i design ships with more than one mass driver cannon, or missile launcher or beam cannon? for example can i build a gunship with 4-5 beam cannons?every cannon u add is cumulative to the final attack (1 beam cannon attack 6, 6 beam cannon =36 beam attack)?it is possible to design superships with all 3 types of attack and all types of defense maximized( designing a ship without weak points) or i have to choose between what defense or what at
i really don't understand what square root calculate. can anyone answer the question. and why should i round up or round down during combat???
i'm interested how much people will play their first game as humans. my first game will be surely as head of humanity but i'm very captivated by the korx. anyway i can't play my first game as an alien race.
thank you. yarlen there is anyway to get collector's edition for an italian costumer without paying 80$ for shipment and custom taxes?
on eb games site i found that this important retailer has shops in italy, norway, denmark, germany and so on. so if i preorder from eb games i will get european version or north american collector's edition. in eb games site it says that it has collector's edition but i'm not sure if european eb games shops receive CE or paradox version. any help?
i would know from stardock or gamma testers some useful information about campaign. how much scenarios there are in the campaign? all races are involved in the campaign or only human, drengin and dreadlords?u can research all tech tree and all ships during scenarios or there are limited choices for tech tree and ships?at the end and at the beginning of a scenario there are cinematic movies? thanks
i wonder if in the game you can see how much research points a technology needs to be discovered. in other words there will be a screen like in civ4 where u know the total cost of the technology and how much tech point u have acquired? it is very useful for research planning
