I personally don't buy any starforce games either -- anthing that installs 0th ring drivers and increases privelages of other processes is a rootkit in my opinion, pure and simple.

Here's my top five, excluding GC2 5 - Tetris (GB) I can remember long drives on the school bus (25-35 minutes) playing this on the original Game Boy. Repetative but oh-so-difficult to master 4 - Galactic Civilizations (PC) A wonderful 4x Game, I remember thinking that the thing i missed was tactical combat and ship design were the two things I'd add to it -- and I got 50% of them when stardock released GC2<b
I hope your alignment was evil... using your own people as bait
OK the game says I have v1.0x.1 is this the latest version? Yes
Does the Hall of Empathy actually work? I built that last game I played- and the races I was at war with surrended to my allies instead of me... Had the same thing when i went neutral -- for this improvment and the terraforming. I'll go back to my PsyBeams and free influence modules.
Incidently, have you tried disabling Antivirus and Firewalls? Just a question... I work at an ISP so if there's a problem accessing the net, that might cause it. Incidently, proxies can cause problems too. <-- Works for Bell Sympatico in igloo land and that's one the of the first things we ask as wel
I noticed that the latest patch is no longer on the game site. There is a reference to use Stardock Central instead. As i understand it, the Beta will be released in SD Central, but the final 1.1 patch will be released on both SDC and the site. I Use SDC Anyhow (I use Object desktop and it
i just made a mess in my pants... Seriously, i think you've adressed the chief two gameplay complaints with the Tech Trading and Blind Exploration options, and I personally can't wait for the shipbuilder changes.... So the only question is... who do we have to kill and/or sleep with to get at a beta version of the patch?
Pretty much just a research base for me. Anything 6 and below I typically just put 1 factory and the rest research. Same here, but when you get discovery spheres made, upgrade that last factory into a sphere </
So you release a buggy program that requires an update to work properly and then put the "product activation" in that update? 1.0 ran stable on my pc (and most people's PCs from what i understand) with no problems.
I know it's an event, i've just never seen that many hulls generated by it (usually i tend to get 3-6 ships) -- nor had my economy based on the balance on the screenshot What i ended up doing was selling all but two full fleets and upgrading them with more modern technology -- ended up being able to stick 9 move worth of engines and two psychic beams
I just got 100 corvettes... see below.
Redid the image -- photobucket reduced it by accident
Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I recently had a random 'precursor corvette' event. Happy, because this was early in the game, and even the usual three or four ships would be a big help as I had just gotten in a war with a race with the same approximate military strength as me. So I use tab to get to my ships to find this... <img src="http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/Dart
A followup question -- If the little freighter isn't in the starbases ZOI, does the bonus apply?
I have a nasty habit of selling my flagship once all the anomalies are gone
I had the very same problem. After the reboot windows said it recovered from a very serious error, and when i reported the error message, the info on it said to try decreasing hardware acceleration. Have been doing that for about a week now, and i don't get nearly as many reboots. It still happens every once and a while tho. It m
The influence one is the best of the four IMHO
When you have advanced level of espionage on a race you have a chance to steal techs (doesn't happen often to me, but it DOES happen)
What level of difficulty? The AI usually enjoy trading among themselves, moreso on higher difficulty levels.
You can archive the files in SDC (like Peace Phoenix said) -- but when you burn the archive to CD, don't forget to include a copy of the SDC installer as well to uncompress the files
Personally i have two ship designs, fast ones with no defense for attacking, and ones where i replace the engines with defenses for garrison ships.
I tend to control+n once or twice, but never after the first turn. What i look for is the distribution of races. On a larger map, i've had five of the six civs start in the lower left (including me) but then had one civilization start in the upper right. -- I try to recreate untill people are fairly evenly spread out.
I've noticed this as well. For example. Invade planet with three ships @ 1000 troops each using standard warfare, Win with 1150 troops left, keep one ship and 1150 population on planet Invate planet with three ships @ 1000 troops each using Information Warfare, converting 750 citizens to troops, win with 2250 troops left, Keep two ships and 1500 population on planet <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/
There are core designs for various ship types in the game. However to be honest with you they are very generic and don't usually help you out in a game situation. I don't think I've ever built any of the attack ships you unlock in research. I've always just designed my own taylored to whatever my current needs are in the game.</T
