There seem to be a few people posting with problems with this graphics card so you could have a look at some of those other posts to see if anyone managed to figure out what was wrong - and also what hadn't been tried yet. I'd certainly try HEEGZ's suggestion of turning off AA and other graphics options to see if that is it. This also doesn't look too good in your debug.err but I'm not a Stardock dev. so can't say for sure: <

Could you post the debug.err file (in GalCiv2 directory) as that has a bit more info., like what version you're running, region settings, sound drivers, etc.? That driver is quite old though.... is there a more recent one you could try?

Spaxspore - it looks like the A* path algorithm went a bit wonky, I've seen some other posts with the same problem so you might have to wait for the final 1.1 patch. e-stab - did you have the same problems about a ship not being in a fleet that Frogboy mentions?

It's a cap but I think it was brought in mainly to prevent the game running like a three-legged dog on some of the larger maps with lots of ships. There is an extensive thread on this somewhere with some other options suggested so you could have a look at that....

Brad did say that you should be able to spot trends in the numbers so that the user can get near to what they want. If it jumped randomly it might wind you up and also become more a game of whoever has the fastest reflexes gets the best outcome.

As Monkey Pants says (wow, there's a phrase I didn't think I'd ever say again! lol), you need to have a defence of the appropriate type to receive the bonus. I guess the reasoning is that you could just have an empty hull that is invulnerable (or with very high defence) to anything the enemy throws at you. If you have to add the defence then it ups the price (and maintenance) of the ship a little.

Although, I've just noticed that it says you're running the German version so maybe that's the issue - there were quite a few posts on problems with patching German versions last time around. Localisation was handled by Paradox for Europe and not Stardock.

Only the obvious ones: update drivers, check for anti-virus being naughty, etc. It's a beta so will have issues with some situations or hardware combinations - you might just have to wait for the official release. Sorry.

Yeah, the mouse problem sounds like the hardware cursor issue again - there were quite a few posts on this a while back (with the original release) so have a look at them if it doesn't resolve it.

I think they're going to release a standalone exe for the patch on Monday once the IT people get back in (slackers, taking the weekend off! ) so might be an idea to wait until then. It's a beta after all so there's bound to be a few issues...

I uninstalled it a while ago but can't remember exactly what I did - think I just used control panel Add/Remove programs. The "ini file not found" sounds like the uninstaller is missing for some reason. The other option is to reinstall the theme (that shouldn't hurt you as you've already got it!) and see if that fixes the uninstaller, i.e. try to uninstall it afterwards.

There might also be some complex interactions in the new one that mean the old one doesn't work - there were a few additions to the ship designer in this latest beta. I agree that some people might prefer the old way and some people might prefer the new way so I think it's very much a case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't" for Stardock. Of course it's still undergoing change so we may get a version that everyone likes in the future!

Just use your Print Screen (or Prt Scr or similar) key to take a screen shot and copy it to the clipboard. Now you can paste this into your favourite image editing program (e.g. Paint) using Ctrl+V and Bob's your uncle!
