Shame to see a joke thread like this bring down good threads from the 1st page. Mod should lock this or something.

Another IE user converted I have been using FF for years now and never been happier. Plus side is that you can custom your FF browser the ways IE users only dream of. If your choose to do so, ofcourse. Give FF 2.0 a try, it really is a good browser.

I do find annoying that editing your own posts can result often into a error screen. By error screen I mean the screen "your not logged in". Also posting links/pictures can be frustrating at times. They do work, but when you edit a post, they tend to get screwd :/ Btw 23% of web surfers are using FireFox nowdays (according to research companies), so the above statement is not totally correct. Also M$ has acknowledget that some sites have difficulties with the new IE7 <img src="http://im

This has been bugging me for a while, actually ever since original GC2 came out. Does the AI races spend their ability points when you start a game? To me all the AI races always have "federalists" selected as their political party. This leads me to believe that AI does not spend their ability bonuses either? :/

Nice write up! I have not personally experienced that many mega events in my DA beta 2 games but Iam sure they will get tweaked. Other people aswell are longing for much more elaborate espionage system than currently is in place. Frogboy did write that this part of the game is not open for suggestions, but we can hope it gets bit more complex. Constructor micromanagement is also one of this games greatest achiles heels, but I have not seen any comments about it from

Isnt that bit too easy.. We lazy gamers want a tooltip! Or atleast SD should put one for the sake of game reviewers. They arent usually the most brigtest of the bunch

Update to latest DA beta 2 , they were never suppose to appear in the first place. Or atleast they have not been popping up in my games with latest beta. I assume this is fixed.

Thanks for the indepth explanation of the current pop growth system I would really like a tooltip into civilization manager screen/planetary screen which would tell me exactly what is the current pop growth for a planet. Since this aspect of the game has been changed so many times, this tool tip is greatly needed in my mind.

I like it too very much. Somehow I got the idea that the whole structure of tech tree would be new, but with some new additions it feels quite new again. Iam actually getting my ass handled on tough with latest beta 2 How this relates to tech tree I do not know One thing I would really want to see, is that

Iam almost embarassed to ask, but here it goes. In which menu I should go and where should I move my cursor to check current pop growth for a planet? I have basicly tryed everything and Iam 95% there should be a current pop growth tooltip somewhere. Help a your fellow beta tester out

Good going CodeCritter! I just posted an bug email to you guys about this one. Glad to hear it has been fixed, could we get a small hotfix before next major Beta release?

Have not yet had time to get down and dirty with the new tech tree, just about to start my first DAbeta 2 game. But I feel that disabling a farm building with spy should not immidiately kill all the extra population enabled by farm building. Instead it should give negative pop growth instead. What the negative growth rate should be when these buildings are disabled is up to developers I guess.

I have zero knowledge about this new beta, but did not korath "live" on toxic planets? So this might be intended feature. I for one would like races to have different type of home world. IE. Koraths main planet toxic and maybe Yor starting world could be barren. This might be so alrdy, but I have a faint memory that all civilizations start with basic habitable planet?

Sounds like a quite a bunch of new stuff managed its way to new beta! New tech tree was my biggest wish for this one. Can´t wait to get home on sunday and test the new release!

CobraA1: It basicly works like that alrdy with dual core. After moving to dual core, I have no problems running multiple programs at once and all this while gaming GC2.

Maybe this could be a mega event. Not that the event itself is so mega, but the if it leads to galactic warfare, its pretty mega

Agh cannot edit my post Just came back to say, that I really hope the "allow intensive CPU algorithms" tick box will be back in some form with DA. As of now if I want all my opponents to use max AI, I have to manually customize each race. No big deal really, but still one more task to perform. Maybe slap a "reset all races to default" button into opponent selection screen and I have no more whines

Why o why do I have to go visiting relatives on this weekend! All this stuff makes my mouth water like crazy fellow looking at bowl of porridge. Isnt the newest beta going to be available today?

Its an original idea and have nothing against slow moving star bases. I would however like developers first to handle the current micromanagement issue conserning star base construction. Before that I really wouldn´t want any more added micromanagement with star bases. Personal opinion only

You cant really compare games like that. GC2 might look small scale but I bet there are alot more polygons in GC2 than Freelancer, in normal scenes. New 3D gimmicks tend to need more horsepower and they are used alot in GC2. This leads to the point that old cards just cannot produce nice looking picture, since they do not support all the newest 3D tricks. I also wish that games would be more optimized today, but the sad fact is that ever growing speed of computers tend to make programm

Hmm this could be useful. Personally I never had the motivation to dig up what a race is currently researching, as it was buried deep in civilization statistics or some place like that. With my very limited programming experience I can only imagine whats it like to code a complex system like AI. Now that I have seen couple reacent block buster game releases with terrible AI, I appriciate draginols coding skills even more <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" bo
