hmmm I've not played the game yet.... BUT I would hazard a guess that stars are objects that ships can't enter, only planets are enterable, so if you create a object with the property of a star i.e. solid, that should work... Now getting that onto the map is an entirely different story. I would put the new solid object into the spatial anomalies table and help when the galaxy is generated random solid objects are spawned. One problem though might be that the AI thinks it is
DUDE!!!!!!! SPOILER WARNING I've not even gotten the game yet! In future please put "SPOILER: Campaign Question" in the thread title...... rather than "Dreadlord Campaign Finale - How do I kill the uber lord"? J
I've played; Master of Orion 1 - The original and clearly the 3rd best! Master of Orion 2 - The dogs b011oc*s in TBS space games AKA the 1st Master of Orion 3 - Tinted b@st@*d of a child Space Empires 3 - Amazingly addictive with mods Space Empires 4 - Close 2nd Imperium Galactica 1 - Brillant original great fleet battles Imperium Galactica 2 - Awesome cinematics / story mode / good fleet battles - Close 4th Imperium Galactica 3 - AKA Nexus Reac
Can you issue stacking commands like say, I want that rally point to have 2 fighters 1 frigate and 1 cruiser, and spawn multiple points of them? I'd love to send a rally fleet command on the map. That would be so useful, have a set configured fleet assemble at a rally point prior to attack LOL! Combined arms anyone. Once that spawn point as ships allocated to it and have arrived they auto form a fleet and switch all other ships to rally automatically to the next closest fle
LOL you spoke to soon, the forum his crashed on me. Its been very choppy the last few weeks but I'll cope. I want to take the opportunity to congratulate you all at Stardock for doing 3 things; 1) Restoring my faith in developer interaction with its customer and fan base. 2) Producing an incredible game which is vast improvement upon the original and which includes a huge amount of unique never seen before featurettes. Lets hope other game developers look to Stardock a
Errrrr use the KEYBOARD!
A quick question regarding us E.U players. If I were to buy it from Stardock now (gotta support the developer. you know ) would I get the "preorder" bonus or am I out of luck and can E.U citizens get the packaging, cd:s and manual sent to us as well? I would also like to know this now, especially since play.com has screwed me over J
MOFOers! Due for release on 03/03/2006 I hate Paradox. Jesus can't they even deliver to suppliers on time! I'm off to blow up some rebel scum in Empires at Wars, a nice little stop gap for me till I receive my now late copy of GC2. I am not impressed!!!! J
the irony doesn't escape me LMAO!
LOL Just kidding! Just got to wait till this friday for the game now. Woe is I. So how is it everyone? J
Damn you Featauril you beat me to it!
Worked in Moo2 and that was back in 1996 A brilliant idea that not many games have truly improved upon. It was the 5X in the 4X game, the leaders both planetary and naval both provide an advantage to a civilization that got them and assigned them properly, adding a captain with the ability to increase ship speed by 2 to a slow battleship can in theory allow it to cruise with the rest of the fleet instead of limping behind. What more, the leaders gained experience the more y
BEST NOT BE! I order already for the 24rd!
Good work matey now together we will rule the galaxy!
I see your points, it make sense from a story point of view but from a basic give random races the same designs, its just makes it silly. I think I'll mod the game to do the following shares; Drengins - Torian (Former slaves) Yor - Iconians (Former creators) or Possibly Iconians - Humans (This is because humans discovered the Iconians and gave them hyperdrive. Altarians - Darth (Same home planet) Korx - Thalan (Since any non-native alien race woul
Hmmmmm last time I checked britain didn't have a US carrier in its port nor does Russia or South Africa. Point is each race has its own industry and therefore its own military products. The idea that 2 races have the same share base hulls is implying they share the same military suppier. This isn't realistic especially when a new previous unknown race pops on to the scene with no prior contact with anyone. Sorry just don't like see someone else with similar hull structures, hopefully
The first time I ever played Moo2 I played it on easy in a big galaxy I won the game the same day and it was awesome! Hopefully the campaign and sandbox versions in the game will add extra excitement. Question though... Do the drealords turn up in the sandbox versions of the game as well like the Antarians from MOO2 to cause you pain and grief? J
Hi I've heard that there are only 5 distinct hull styles in the game, however there are 10 major races in the game and numerous minor races as well. How does this work? Do Humans and Altarians have the same base hull designs? I'm getting flashbacks of MOO3 here! Thats isn't a good thing! J
LOL using a collective government and improved industry in MOO2 allowed for hyper production, I was kicking out colony ships before the other races even had time to build a frigate.
To be fair there is enough matter in the solar system to build a couple of dyson spheres. There is a massive dust and matter cloud that extends all around the solar system its unbelievably huge, there is enough matter in that cloud to build a dyson sphere and then some. We always think of the solar like a map, if it was to scale and this full stop "." was earth, the solar system would end somewhere near near london over 100 miles aways. Building a sphere 100,000,000 miles in diameter is easily p
There are only five different base hull styles to pick from (you can customize the colors though), but you can pick any portrait/logo you like from those included in the game (Major races and Minor races both). There are a total of about 30 portraits and 25 logos in the base game. You can also add portraits/logos by creating images of the correct size, format, a
