I always preferred setting myself goals and limitations in city sims. There's no good reason after all to play the vanilla game if you don't want to. Play it however you prefer. And if you haven't tried them yet, take a look at all the mods that add to its complexity.
Thanks Glazunov1, I'll try the mods. Just wondering. How complex are the underlying mechanics? For example, I bu

So, I was itching for a good city sim and saw this on sale at Steam last week for $10. I didn't start this thread to brag, but is this game too easy? It's just a directed hand holding session. Build a road, city hall and utilities and then just build housing and jobs for skilled and unskilled workers en mass. Rinse and repeat until you get to a 5,000 population, where a few more buildings become unlocked. With $500K to spend, it's almos

I'd like to keep the mechanic the way it is. Disturbing a lair is a potential risk. Ninja looting is the reward for that risk. I once disturbed a banshee lair with expanding borders, and she starting laying waste to my mines and shards. My sovereign stack was on the other side of the map, and none of the defensive units in the city had magical attack abilities.

I got shadow rift through a quest and held off on using it until near the end game. A drake was threatening a city, so I cast shadow rift, the demons appear and just stood around. Walked over and occupied the same tile as the drake, but did nothing. Later an enemy AI attacked, so I cast the spell again. Still nothing. the demons just let the AI's army pass by without a scratch. Per the spell description, the demons are supposed to attack any

When I get a new game, i play to win to "prove" I can do it. After I've won a couple times under different conditions, playing the game to the bitter end really isn't a big priority, but I usually finish a game one way or another.

Just a heads-up I downloaded Object Dock and started adding icons. In the games tab, I added Civ4, GC2, Tropico, and finally LH. LH was the only one that didn't have it's own object dock icon. It just defaulted to a generic globe icon. IMHO, LH is worthy of it's own object dock icon. [e digicons][/e]

Blizzard may affect a group, but at 8 points of damage (to each enemy), it's still under powered mid game or later. My suggestion is to 1. remove the casting time 2. increase the base damage to 12, plus +2 per water shard and +1 for every other caster level. Blind - if your going to keep the effect at 25%, I think the manna cost should be reduced. I'd rather see it go up to 50% (or more and have the manna cost increased, or the duration limited. I'll think of

Well the percent of henchwomen should reflect the player percentages. I think SD reported 5% female customers. so to reflect our community, 5% of the henchpeople/heros encountered/trained should be female. [e digicons]O:)[/e] [e digicons][/e]
Quoting Wizard1200, reply 18 I dont want autoresolve battles, i want play them.
So do I, to a point. By mid game, I just don't have the desire to go into tactical battles with any left over low level monsters. Better to just auto -resolve and be done with it.
