The -9 does not change much, especially with the change to accumulative diplomacy modifiers - it takes too long to degrade the accumulated goodwill.
Well then, I guess I'm just not very neighborly. [e digicons][/e] Yes, the mana cost should be increased, but 5,000 IMO, is too much.

Spell of making isn't as easy as it used to be. Once you start building the towers, you get a -9 relations modifier, and everyone hates you. Although, I've seen the AI build all 4 towers but not bother to cast the SOM too, so I think that should be fixed to increase the challenge. ...and besides, sometimes after a long game, when you don't feel like attacking dozens of cities to win a conquest victory, it's a nice way to "quickly" end the game. </

In my last game, I was second to last in the power rating, and I knew it was just a matter of time before someone declared war on me, so I bribed the 2nd strongest faction to go to war with the strongest. In about 10 turns or so, both AI's had hacked each other to the point where I had the highest power rating. It just seemed too easy.

No need to get bent out of shape. there's a simple solution. Vote with your dollars. If you don't like Steam, simply don't purchase games that require it. If enough people feel the same way you do, Steam will suffer financially. However, you are currently in the minority, so save you energy for constructively getting your point across. People have commented on my writing style, but boy, do you take the cake..
1. Leveling is a lot less fun. It's slow - It's not just that leveling is slow, though. The level-up trees lead to fewer meaningful decisions. In FE, I'd usually choose between 2-3 good abilities and 2-3 bad (well, undesirable) abilities at each level up. In LH, I make one decision from the start: what capstone ability am I going for? Then I pretty much take the prereqs for that, most of which are not very

I recently earned enough fame to choose my second hero. Both choices seemed to be weaker than the first hero I recruited. By the time I got the second one, the monsters I was fighting were too strong for it. So, I suggest that each subsequent hero be stronger in level and abilities than the previous selection.
You can change the pacing settings in game setup. When you set up your game, there is a world option called "Pacing". Change from "Normal" to "Fast" and see how that feels.
Thanks! Serves me right for being to anxious to start playing without checking the settings first. [e digicons][/e]

After playing a while, the game feels very slow compared to FE. I believe this is working as designed, but personally I would prefer if it could be a bit faster. It reminds me of the last chapter of GC2, where it took quite a while to get decent weapon tech. If others agree, I suggest revisiting the experience points each monster is worth, and allowing a sovereign/champ to choose 2 traits on level up instead of one.

I swear people cry about nothing anymore just to read themselves cry I think.
Well, I think it has to do more about the timing of the price drop, rather than the drop itself. "Back in the day" it took a while for prices to drop. People just have to get used to the new environ
