In 4X space games I usually name my ships after birds for some reason ie. Albatross, Falcon, Pigeon (troop transtports since they drop their "cargo" on unsuspecting worlds like crap on your car); its just a habit.

Ok here is my shot at explaining the lack of eyes and a mouth: Korx are born with eyes and a mouth like any other species however when a Korx becomes rich and successful he sells his eyes and mouth (a Drengin delicacy) and has them replaced with a computer neural interface (which would allow communication of a sort).
