You, I and everyone else on this forum knows who they are. Maybe those about which you speak are assholes <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-Table

Finally, some people are just mean and hateful, there's really no understanding it, it just is. Mumble, these people are most of the problem. Review even a small sampling of the threads and it doesn't take very long to come across an example of name-calling, flaming, trolling or an intentionally non-helpful reply. Ninety five percent of this is p
Agreed, do be nice to new players (It seems even some regulars haven't noticed the 'don't attack the newbies' sticky that Cari posted). Some regulars seem to purposely get off on attacking 'newbies' or anyone else they feel have offered an idea or an opinion they don't personally agree with. Why?
Could be a sign that things are becoming more civil amongst our fellow GalCiv2 gamers... No? This would be a pleasant and welcome change!
(Citizen)WheeloffireNovember 29, 2006 08:01:17Reply #3Too much emphasis on spies. Not enough emphasis on improving ass kicking. Flipping asteroid mines with influence is ludicrous. What do you think would happen if a West Virginia coal mine decided that the US sucks and all coal is going to China? Spies are overdone. An additional slider for counter-espionage
or something more like a switch between DL-mode and DA-mode? This would be a great option. Not a big fan of spies, but wouldn't want them removed entirely.
Nyuk, nyuk.
Asshole.
I love this!
Bring on the tac combat! In most games the AI is poor at tactical combat In your opinion. Many on this forum would disagree. Besides, why would you limit your expectations of Stardocks implementation of tactical AI to what you have possibly experienced in the past? Can you truely name any other 4X space strategy games that sur
I know, I'll miss him too. Though you may being facetious, I'm not Mumblefratz: you're one of the most diplomatic and well spoken posters on this forum [hence your title] and I wish we all could be a little more like you. But we are who we are and yes I was being facetious in regards to Maxi's absence. <img src="http://images.stardock.co
his last post there said something about never posting here again. I know I'll miss him.
Like a deer in the headlights, frozen in your tracks.
Again I ask: How's your Mum?
How's your Mum?
So where's the OP? Probably got tired of Maxi's caustic responses.
it should be done right, or not at all. A quick-and-dirty implementation could very well do serious damage to the game, not improve it. Every tac combat supporter wants it to be done right. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="
As soon as people can do that, then you'll see wins on even the hardest levels become routine Probably for some players but not for everyone. For "superplayers" it is apparently difficult to program a game that is and remains challenging months after it's release. For the average player Galciv2 remains quite a challenge and I'll bet the devs will
Kryo: I'm sorry if you did not understand. My reply was in response to your one word answer. Ironic isn't it? Anyway, most of us tac combat supporters have resigned ourselves to the fact that there will be no TC in GalCiv2. We also understand that TC is only a possibility in any sequel. Since shortly after Mr. Wardell stated in his follow-up to the "features we'd like to see added to the game" poll that he also would like to see Tac as a possible future addition, talk on the subject has
No. Typical.
Pro: FUN!!! And again, for those who aren't interested in fun, an auto-resolve feature would undoubtedly be included. I've also heard that tac combat won't be considered until GalCiv3, but until today I'd heard that Dark Avatar was going to be released this fall. Now the devs are toying with the idea of pushing back DA's release until after Christmas [March?] to add more features. If they can change their mind on release dates, maybe they can change their minds on GalCiv[2] expansion fe
I'd prefer before X-mas release as mentioned for the last several months. If it's not going to be released for another 5 to 6 months [March?] I would hope it would have some major additions such as tactical space and ground combat, better diplomacy and minors that actually do something.
Atlantians: Get used to it. Far too many posters on these forums get "hostile" when something is suggested that they don't understand or don't want to see implemented. I see many ideas thrown around the forum that someone thinks might improve the game. Inevitably, someone else disagrees, often times quite rudely. Actually, those who shot down your idea did so rather mildly. I've seen much worse.
I agree with the OP. I played the hell out of BotF for several years for two main reasons: 1. the fact that it was a Star Trek game and 2. the fact that it had tac battles. In these battles you could choose from a half dozen formations that could either aid or hinder your attack depending on the formation your opponent chose. You also would target a class of ship in your enemys fleet [all the destroyers or all the dreadnaughts] or if you wanted you could individually target enemy ships for more
