Just my 2 cents here. I am a long time fan of stardock and galvic. I have been playing your games for years and loving it. I got burned out on playing galciv though around the time mercenaries came out. I started playing stellaris after that and really liked that game. Just a week or so ago I pulled up galciv to play again and was really lost. I felt it was a completely different game than what I remembered. It may be just that people tend to not like change but i

I dont like how the weapons/ship sizes are done now. I think larger ships should have larger weapons that do more damage but are easier to avoid by small nimble ships so that you need a mix of ship sizes to handle different threats. I know thats what the different roles are supposed to accomplish but I dont think they really do it correctly.
I guess I have to give up on this game. I have been a loyal gal civ fan but after 2 really long games that lock up and become unplayable because the turn never comes back to me I have gotten frustrated and will not be playing this game until a patch or something comes out to fix this issue. I have save games for both games I can provide that whenever I load them and click turn it never comes back to my turn no matter what I do. <
I did some troubelshooting and the trade ship thing has nothing to do with it. I just had a colony ship going to a planet that someone else settled. But the bug still exists. When I click turn it moves my ships and then just hangs there and does not allow the turn to move back to me. It would be awsome if stardock could fix the save game for me so I can finish the game. [e digicons]:D[/e] I have tried to exit out of the game an
I have a save game that is bugged where when I hit turn it says "cannot trade. Fleet has no trade ships." When I click Done the turn will not advance to my turn so the game is unplayable. This is the first but I have reported a bug so if you want a copy of the save game please give me some instructions on how you want me to send it and where it is at. Thanks
I think one of the reasons people are willing to buy more console games is the ability to try before you buy. $40 or $50 is a lot of money to shell out for a game. Console or PC. But with the console you have the option of going to blockbuster and renting it for $4. See if its any good and if you like it go to the store and pay the money. I know some games have demo's but they are usually very limited and you dont get a true feel for the full game. With a PC game you shell out
Look at it this way. They have to make a profit to continue to develop good games. If they dont make a profit we all lose. There is NO way someone is going to pay $90 for a PC game. Not going to happen. So they would just be shooting themselves in the foot if they sold the bundled package for that much. I will pay $25 for an expansion pack to a game that I already own and love playing. They are just being smart and trying to sell it to as many people as they can at
I think they are going to start concentrating on the fantasy game now. The next update will probably be a few years out and with be GCIII. I think the seperate tech trees alone make the expansion worth it. Thats one thing I didnt like before. Each race was too similar. Now they each have their own play style. great job.
I dont like this idea. I also dont like the nerfing ship engine idea. I think if you are in another cultures sphere of influence it should reduce your range by a set percentage. This way you will not be able to penetrate very far into another emire but if you share a planet on the edge of another empire and its in their space you will still be able to get to it. The advantage of a border treaty is that you could pass through their shpere of influence without a range penalty. This will
Clearstar, I think one of the problems your having is you pay too much attention to the intelligence reports. I am usually ALWAYS rated as one of the least most powerful empires because I dont keep a strong standing navy. I usually focus on social and research and dont create a large navy until I am in danger of getting attacked by someone else. Once someone attacks me I divert my resources into cranking out ships and kick the guy who was rated as the most powerful empires butt because
I usually prefix it with a race abreviation. Like thln for thalens etc. Then either a name or a descriptor like Blackbird or Hvy Fighter Then a roman numeral designating the version And then a version letter if its designed to defend against a certain attack type So for example: Yor Hvy Fighter I-b would defend against beam attacks. I know probably WAY too much though into that but it makes it easier to see what a ship is deisgned for.
I think its GREAT that they patch their code and try to make the game better rahter than wait for the expansion! What about the people out there that dont plan to buy the expansion? I give stardock a LOT of credit for their customer service! I have never had another software company who cares about the support of the product after they have already sold it. Usually the model is they sell it with known bugs. They usually fix the first round of major bugs and show stoppers with a patch a
I have only played one game under 1.2 so far but I had a similar problem. The Yor would colonize no problem but they never seemed to build more than a couple of ships. I built tons of troop transports and walked all over their undefended planets. It was really wierd. They never attacked me once in the entire game and only a VERY small percent of planets had any ships defending them.
I have had them declare war without telling me as well but i think it was because I didnt have universal translators so we couldnt talk.
I live in good old Detroit MI. I'm on the other side of the city than Stardock freezing my butt off.
I696 and I 94??? Is stardock located in Detroit? I thought all the game developers were in California not here freezing their butts off with us detroiters.
