Quoting TCores, reply 2 but it's a reason I often don't spring for 64bit either. The market is small. But it grows every day by a huge amount. At least in germany all people i know which build up a new game/dev windows system use the 64 bit version. The 64bit systembuilder version of windows 7 leads the selling lists on all shops i normall buy my stuff.
Well for myself, the
The backstory for Elemental is something I've spent the better part of two decades creating. Random House has certainly been helpful in fleshing it out. But to accuse me of selling out or whatever is pretty insulting and frankly unwelcome. If you don't like it, you're free to ignore it. But it has nothing to do with "making a few bucks on the side". So much as it wasn't meant as a pe
I wasn't going to respond, as this option would of 0% impact on me and my enjoyment of this game. But I think what Kryo is trying to point out. This would require significant time to properly develop and implement. As much as Multiplayer. I believe he said. So, just take that into account, when talking about it and don't really expect it to show up, until sometime down the road after release, when their development window is open again. To clarify I'm not saying I'm no
Quoting endofdayz, reply 2Ignore the lore - its just their attempt to make a few quick bucks on the side by doing what halo and warhammer have. I personally wish there was no "backstory", considering how this is supposed to be a sandbox empire builder... but I guess all companies have thier price. Still have to sigh when I see certain descriptions delayed in the beta because "they are waiting for random house to send them
Well I for one am really looking forward to this upcoming beta 2B. Though it'll be interesting not to have the civilization tree to work off of, for improving towns with the civilization tech tree. But as alluded to us by the Frog, who knows what we'll get as an alternative with Magic. And the adventuring tree.. that's got me kinda psyched.
Beta 2, was a shell of 2A. Even though they bare a similar resemblance, and use the same numeral. They packed in so much into 2A that it really was like a breath of fresh air. And I too can't wait for 2B. And 2C and 3, and 4. And the final version. I can totally believe the changes in a week.. just cause they are working off internal builds that are more complete than what were getting. So, as fewer problems crop up, it's easier for them to just really drill down onto
Oh I know about the Medieval 2 Total War music. It's in my music rotations! hehe... and I also use it in our D&D games on Sundays. Fantastic music, incredibly immersive!
Gorstagg, I was wondering how you capture your videos. Later, LAR
I use a program called Fraps. It does a good job, and then you've got to get a video converting program to convert the videos you take. Right now, my videos run for about 7 or so minutes, and get to 3.90 gigs in size. As a massive .avi file. Then I run a conversion program I picked up, I think it's Any converter or something like it.
Hey Wintersong, I just took a quick view through here again. I really like the effort you've put into it. Good job!
It sounds like your immersion is enhanced with better aural presentations. That makes sense. Me, I would love it if they included a music player or gave us access to our own music player, so we can play whatever music we like comfortably from within the game. So that way when the mood hits, I can switch to the Lord of the Rings Soundtracks, or maybe a King Arthur one, or the Dawn of War 2 40k music sound track (really outstanding work by the way). Or something more classical, or even
Thanks NorsemanViking. I'm intending to take some new ones soon and get them up as well.
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know I've put up 2 brand new videos on my blog. I do hope you enjoy them!
Thanks WhiteElk, and glad that you got to enjoy the video's. I'm working on putting a few more together. And having fun exploring what everything does. And learning as I go, but also trying to share some insights that I've picked up too along the way.
I for some reason thought I had already reported this, back in Beta 2. But I can't find a post to indicate it. When I have anti-alias of any level turned on. The world goes all white, and completely becomes unplayable. It has to be disabled in order for me to even see the world, or anything on it. That includes the cloth map as well. Video card: GeForce 8800 GTS Drivers: 257.17 WHQL - 6/15/2010 I'm just reporting it, though I wouldn't be surprised if othe
That's good to know. (Mine was way up in the worlds himalayas at the time, and I didn't even think about that. But I'll remember it for sure if it happens again!) Thank you Wintersong!
Quoting ddd888, reply 18i think there is a number showing it somewhere Main characters like Sovereign get an icon on the left that darkens when there are no more movement points but I've yet to find any indication for common units.
Yes this is very accurate. I found that to be a bit jarring especially when I'm sending caravans out into the world. And there wasn't an icon for them to remind me to go to them, to make
I was just in the game, and got my Sovereign up to visit the Witch on the Small map, Single Continent. I was asked to find her sister, when I accepted it, the sovereign paper doll figure disappeared. It reappeared when I closed the game down and logged back in. I'm using an Geforce 8800 GTS, with the latest drivers (6/15/2010 257.21 WHQL)
You tried getting points for answering a question...except you were wrong (customization will be enabled more as the beta progresses and full-on modding will be tested at the end before release)
Actually in reality I tried to get points for participating on the forums, and posting more than a single line. But that said, I also accepted that if it was rejected, then there was a good reason. Though just a heads up Kryo, on my rejection
Thank you weez2mo. I fixed the comment! Funny thank you for catching that! [e digicons]^_^[/e] And thank you for your comments about the vids!

Hey all over on my website, http://gorstagg.wordpress.com/ I put up some videos of Beta 2A that I got to experience last night when I got up, and got to play some before running off to work. Now that I've had some time to really get a good handle on the gameplay and Sovereign construction, I've got to say I'm still impressed. This has come a LONG way since Beta 2. And is really starting to feel like the game that I'm an
With all due respect, I find quite ridiculous to complain because of the number of words of a story. There I was thinking that content matters more than word count. And it's not totally like a contest about doing some subjective stuff* to be evaluted by subjective people. This is not 2 + 2. * diggs and similar stuff not included in this comment
I respect your side of it. I disagree with your comment a
I was doing some thinking about this new version. It's a more concentrated city, with a specific style, now. But bear with me on this, I was thinking that wouldn't it be neat if we could add Flavor buildings, per city level. So that way we could expand the city a little bit in a direction we want, but not have it take time, just some city planning. For example a level 1 city could be given 3 new pieces, they could place down that have No mechanical benefit beyond

In my beta 2 preview, I do indeed slaughter many adventurers out in the world. But I also point out it's because that it's this beta, and there are a lack of lower level monsters to level up on. http://gorstagg.wordpress.com/ They are available in HD for those who feel that urge to watch them in that version.
