I think it’s a tribute to Stardock and all their hard work that when they say “what do you think now or more time?” that everyone says “take your time” because we know the final product is going to be fantastic and well worth it. And the editor looks fantastic, cant wait to get my sticky paws on that, good work!

Look at it this way, the Drengin Empire in Gal Civ 2 will ALWAYS start out as evil, regardless of if you want to play a good Drengin Empire or not. So if you want to go good maybe you have to trade for factory technology to swap for your slave pits many races will have normal factories so trading for it would not be a huge problem, yes it would put you at a disadvantage but then the Drengin Empire has been using slavlings for god knows how long, it wouldn’t be easy to stop using them, i

Playing on a Medium Map as the Drengin because I love the thought of slave pits and being evil gives me a dark fuzzy feeling in my giblets…. Now where was i… ahh yes… more flesh incinerators! The Story So Far… The Drengin Empire along with the Arcean Empire and Terran Alliance had come to settle in a sector of previously unpopulated space, the Drengin in the south the Terran in the north and the Arceans had wound up in-between. I agree with pretty much everything here, however I do believe en mass frigates can overwhelm a capital ship fairly well, early game with my flagship vs 8 cobalts I had to retreat to gather reinforcements or risk being destroyed. The AI does seem build loads of broadcast centres and focuses heavily on culture which because of the way culture acts is incredibly irritating, seeing an AI planet with 5 broadcast centres around it makes me wince because I know unless I wipe the whole faction

I think the size for most things is fine, but the capital ships could be a smidge bigger, not huge massive, but i want to be impressed by them, at the moment i just get the feeling they're way too small to really be capital ships. I think they need to be at least half as big again as they already are.

I could see it flipping back if you conquered a world with ground troops and there is still a "native" enemy population, but in this game you dont, you bomb them into oblivion until the planet is alot more cratery and a great deal blacker, but its a game so i can understand the reasoning Personally i think that if you take out the source of the culture spread (broadcast centers) then the culture

Heres my attempt at one - hope this works, i've never tried this before, please dont hit me with sticks or bombard me from orbit with phasors or anything. 22 Aug 2229 The Story so far… It has been... a few years since the humans gifted the other races of the galaxy with the hyperdriv

During a war with the Drengin with my allies the Arceans Alterians and Thalans the allies were losing, baaaadly, i mean really badly the Drengin were all over the Thalans and Alterians they were hitting my borderworlds and their tech was higher than ours, i was pumping out warships as quickly as i could but i was losing more than i was gaining. I came up with the idea of putting a Starport on each world, even my reserach worlds and createing a figher class ship, they wouldnt take long

The Alterians ARE irritateing i agree, goody two-shoe arrogent human look-alike snobs... however i voted Thalan, because at least Alterians have taste when it comes to fleet colours... the Thalans... well i dont know WHAT they were thinking when they came up with the vomit green/girly pink colour but they deserve a swift death just for that.

Its an excellent strategy game and well worth getting in my opinion, i prefure it far more than civ4 *dives for cover* thatsjustmyopinion!! All games have their problems, its just nice for once to see that the developer is actually doing something about it, listening to feedback, trying to make changes... no they wont do everything no ones perfect but i love the game and im glad i got it. I understand that some people may get angry because the game doesnt do this, or that,

Best system i ever had was one i started near, in the same sector actually, it had 4 planets, pq's were 16 18 22 and 23, the 23 had two moral bonuses and a 300% food bonus (became my main cash planet making near 890 income a turn) The 22 had a 700% and a 300% manufactureing bonus (strangely became my main ship production center, had something like 950 production when i had military spending at 30%) And i turned the last two into secondary production centers, i packed space

Yah, earth sucks, i want more virtual reality centers and these clothes are so frictional As for the moral problems, overpopulation is a major problem, upgrade your entertainment centers and also stick a couple of the top tax gathering thingies... what are they called... the ones i affectionally call the "satilite dish of neverending money" stock exchange!, knew it would come to me... they increa

I agree that starbases shouldnt be super unbeliveably powerful, able to take on entire warfleets but on the other hand they should be able to stand up to them. As starbases will never get to attack first (unless its the rare lesser spotted leaping "assasin" starbase)so they should have a increase in HP to make them at least survive the first attack, while their defence can be upgraded and this helps they still seem incredibly delicate, i like the idea of mods added to them increaseing

I dunno, during a full scale war i sent 3 transports to a waypoint and ran into a large terran fleet... totally accidental i didnt like loseng 10,000 soilders to three one sided engagements but these things happen, i didnt however have the Terran ambassador pop up saying "dudez lol ai suxorz u snd TPs witout esxorts11!" I agree that the AI needs work in certain areas but it still continues to surprise me, and its nice that someone for a cha

I'd be intrested in buying a art pack definatly, although i agree it would ultimately depend on how much content was released for that $9 or however many £'s that is .

I honestly didnt care much about starforce, i dont back up or burn CD's so i never noticed it, but after seeing that post (which they've now removed the link i've noticed) i was shocked and quite miffed, so i spent the last 20 minutes removeing starforce and all games with its copy protection, and i'll never buy a game with starforce on it ever again. They have absolutely NO right to act like that, its sickening. Well done to stardock for not only making a great game but also the

Surrenders depend on alot of factors i think. I was playing as an evil human empire, with me in this large galaxy were the Torians, Terran Alliance, Drengin, Dratha, Krox, Alterians and Yor. The Dratha became very powerful very quickly, they had a huge empire in the middle of the map i was stuck in one corner with quite a nice little empire, the Drath took out the Yor and 4 minor civs quickly, and while i was attempting to build an invasion fleet to take out the Terran Alli

As with all fights with dreadlords, i found the best way was to send waves upon waves of my own men against them (armed with sticks because giving them weapons would be expensive) and after you kill a dreadlord (or drown them in corpses) bury them under a rock, and make sure its a big rock - then nuke the rock from orbit. twice.
