I think that putting the "bridge" notation in is a little misleading, unless you look at it from the "extra" perspective (then you can call anything whatever you want). But definitly a nice ad, I think it works better for the game then others would as the game caters more to a thinking, interactive experiance rather then a click-fest. Good color scheme, it stands out.

Gamespot has Gal Civ 2 listed as #5 for thier most popular games! Link
I've seen it, in the games where it happend to me the ships I gave them were usually very far away from thier space. But, I also had a minor race that was allied with the terrans that invaded my space after more then 20 years of game time. Difficulty was beginner or normal, so they will hang around for a while.
Maybe they are already at war with them.
You can tell if there are ships there if you click on it (and look to see if any are in orbit, even constructers prevent troops from landing), or simply looking to see if the little grey shield is next to the planet.
I'm about 6 hours into a game and My class 26 planet jumped to Class 37 when I picked the "Evil Option" with the Planet Quality increase bonus. Through a series of items built on the planet I think the Planet Class is now 61! Now all you need is the event that doubles a planets quality, you'd be se
you can try making a gigantic galaxy, with rare stars set. That will make the space seem a lot bigger, and make the initial range of ships a lot less meaningfull. Also, if the # of races is turned down, it wil incerease the exploration and expansion time.
I useally do it if I am surrounding hte minor race. Usually I won't sell them military tech, or if I do I'll only sellit about two generations behind where I am now, so that I still have the edge. Also, I'll always sell them everything I have for as much money as I can get one turn before invading them, it's too late for them to do anyhting about it, but I get the money they have that you wouldn't normally get by taking them over.
Mine reset after about a day or so on thier own.
What I've done for all the Dread Lord missions, was to take the planets nearest to them right at the begining, destroy the colony, and repeat, so by the time the Dread Lords mobilize to fight, the planets are uninhabitable. This requires them to go a long wasy to attack our core system, and by the time they get to me, the other aliens on my side are all swarming them. Since they have to go forever to take over one of our places, it's hard f
You can use Planetary Bombardment, bt it will damage the planet, so be carefull.
What I'm doing (Game is wraped up, but will take a bit more to get enough stength to take the planet, 20 turns more or so) is that I blitzed every planet by where the Dread Lords were right at the begining. When they came to attack them, Idestroyed the colony (lowering the planet rateing). They then either by pass it (in which case I do it again) or colonize, then I use by forces to take it (mass driving it before I invade). after two or three go ro
It sounded like it was German that he was speaking. Wow, that was hilarious.
Oh, for the days of Babbages... Too true... Too true..
I'd like a "launch all" button for planets, usually if I'm trying to scramble a fleet from orbit I launch one, it then switches to that ship, so I have to click on the planet again, and launch one at a time. Nothing big, just would be nice. Also, would it be possible to (when clicked on) ahave a ship give you a radius field of how far they can move (sort of how when you click on a starbase it gives you a radius hioghlight of it's effect, sa
yeah well he sent his save game to Star Dock so we'll all know eventually what the issue is. BTW, I offered to send it to Stardock, but as of yet they have not contacted me back. The offer is still ont he table, but now they can just get it from the link.
Ok everyone, here it is. I'm not too good with this whole link thing, so i don't know which one will work. The planet is located int he top right of the screen, "New Iconia" I think is the name. http://rapidshare.de/files/14050264/class72.zip.html or Link or <a href="http://rapidshare.de/files/14050264/class72.zip.html

Moral is what you get when you watch too much "Home Improvment", approval rateing is what you get when you don't!
Email it to ben[at]benjaminlow[dot][net] I'll host the file for you. I e-mailed Stardock to make sure that by distributing it my registry/serial #/anything won't be in danger. As soon as I get a green light, it'l; be on it's way!
1. You have to explore ther planets first, then they appear on the mini map (with cartography). 2. Farms increase population, there is an occasional galactic event that increases growth (a wormhole), then there is a tech line that increases growth. 3. Planet quality, and race bonuses also play a part in determining max poup., I don't know about tech, maybe... 4-5: dunno
For proof, Could someone take a screenshot of the planet lay out screen and bring up the fake screenshot, Alt tab between the two and you should notice the 72 being a few pixels off.. Lol... that's funny, it really is. It's a legit picture (it was an actual picture since I didn't know how to workt eh
Holy crap, man! Is that really a 68-class planet?? No... no it is not. Its a class 72 planet. I don't know how it happened, I took it over from them, and withen about 20 turns it gave me two Precursor Rangers, so I think the planet might be bugging, either that or it's the Galactic w
I didn't mod it, so unless a roommate of mine hit it up while I was a t class (not likely, more unlikely once you get to know them) it's fine. Could be a bug, I am using the D/L version with all the updates (as of yesterday, when it happened) so any bugs came from Stardock. I'd happily post the save or anything else Stardock would need to check it out, I just don't know how or where.
Ok, thanks!
