I remember you asking about something like that, and I can find a mention about it on page two of this thread, but that does not give me a clear picture of what it is you actually want. I remember something about some mock up picture you made, but I am unable to find it. If you can give me a good description of what this 'race compare feature' entails, and why it would be useful, I will take a look at the feasability of implementing something like that.

I've uploaded a new version of galactopedia, that allows sorting the tech list by ability bonuses. That should allow you to easily find any techs that boost creativity and such.
I can take a look at it. It seems that it is indeed quite doable to allow you to search for techs/improvements etc that have a sortable property. But it would also be rather pointless, since if I make the property sortable, well, you can simply use the alphabetic tech list and simply sort for what you want. After all, that is what the sort is for, and it works fine for planetary improvements. The thing is, the tech list is not sortable for any such bonuses at the moment, due to the na
I actually had great difficulty forwarding an entire port range to demigod: The thing is, my router has fourth field in the port forwarding section, apart from 'port range', 'ip address' and protocol: 'Local Port'. I used to forward single ports by entering the same port number in both the 'port range' and 'local port' fields, but since the 'local port' field did not accept port ranges, this method did not allow me to forward more than one port. The Portforward.com website sho
Copy the folder. Go to impulse, go to the orb, select detect application, select demigod from the dropdown box and select the directory you copied the game to. Verify installation, then update it. If archiving does not work, that is pretty much your only option.
faultrep.dll is part of your operating system. It is not an Demigod dll. Missing it means there is something wrong with your windows install, or that you do not have the latest service pack/updates. If you do have the latest service packs and updates, or installing them did not fix the problem, execute "sfc /scannow" from the command prompt or the run dialog. This will try to repair any corrupted or missing system files.
The email activation method is outdated. Use Impulse alternative activation instead, if possible: [link]http://www.impulsedriven.com/support/alternative_activation.aspx[/link] That page specifically warns you NOT to follow the old email instructions. They may no longer work. Use the impulse alternative activation page instead.
Yes, they should mention the online activation of their own games on the game pages too, I agree. And their no DRM on the disc statements are misleading. Perhaps you should send Stardock an email and ask them to mention the activation requirements more clearly on the impulse store game pages, after all, the fact that the "iron grip warlord" page mentions it uses Impulse reactor under protection, means they consider it a protection scheme worth mentioning. Concerning Galciv2.exe, altho
The reason is actually quite simple. Stardock's DRM requires internet activation. There is no guarantee that someone who has bought the retail version even has an internet connection. However, if someone is capeable of downloading a patch, well, they obviously have some way to connect to the internet, so requiring internet activation is no longer an issue. And no, they are not DRM free. The advertisments of Stardock were: "no DRM on the disc". Which is true. And "no disc-based DRM", w
I have the latest version of galciv2 with all expansions, downloaded through impulse, version 2.02. Which is a lot newer than 1.53. But all versions have had this behavior, and the ultimate edition is supposed to be 2.02 already. Of course, since the twilight sig.bin is not stored in the installation directory, it is quite possible it will not be removed by uninstall, which can explain certain anomalies such as installing it on a computer and not needing an activation. Now, th
They do, but with GalCiv or Sins, destroy the file and a new one will be automatically recreated next time you start the game, do the same with Demigod and it ask you to reactivate.
I tried that. I was forced to reactivate when I moved/renamed/destroyed the sig.bin files. At least with sins of a solar Empire. And twilight, and dark avatar...
Perhaps due to some implementation bug Sins of a solar empire did not ask for reactivation when you moved it, but it was supposed to. The activation system is identical to the one Demigod uses: [link]http://img27.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sinsactivation.png[/link] All three of the games put a sig.bin file under 'all users'. All three of them have identical looking activation screens. So, nothing really changed.
This is not new. Stardock games have had this behavior for years. Sins of a solar empire worked like this, as did galactic civilizations 2.
Wrong version of Ironclad online, means you have an outdated version of the game. Use Impulse to patch Sins of a solar empire to the latest version, then try again.
Orb button in the upper left corner, preferences, install folder section. You can check the prompt for install directory option to choose one every time you install a program, and select the default directories by choosing the approriate program type from the dropdown box and then editing the path that is displayed.
Try going to the explore tab in impulse, section free, select fences, and on the fences page click the blue add to account button. Although I have not tested it, I think that might be what they want you to do, so it is at least worth a try.
That's odd. The hull search works perfectly for me, as far as I can tell.
You can find it in impulse, along with sins of a solar empire itself. If you have the serial that is. If you don't, you still have to wait.
Downloaded, installed and activated Entrenchment. Now, to test it out!
heh, I'm already downloading it.
That's odd, the firefox spellcheck works just fine here. I just use Control-rightclick to access the default menu, including the spellcheck options/suggestions, and a normal right-click to access the specific controls of this edit box.
I agree...if you work...you can't win. Oh well, I suppose if you don't have a job, you need the $100 coupon/prize.
That's not true, due to time zones. In europe for example, most people will have finished work on 12pm est.
You mentioned you wanted the AIs to behave like real people playing the game, but will there also be AIs that behave like real leaders in the game, that is, an AI that tries to roleplay as a channeler? In multiplayer games, the player generally only has one goal, win the game. All the rest comes secondary. Some players however, especially in singleplayer mode, try to roleplay a leader with a type of personality. For example, an honorable one that will not stab you in the back. Or a xe
It gets all the data from the data files, so it is always up to date. Data is automatically (re)loaded when you (re)start galactopedia.
It actually seems to be a video driver problem. It sounds very similar to a problem that GalCiv2 users had with nvidia videocards under windows vista, with flipping the back buffer, but those problems were solved after nvidia fixed their drivers (version 158.24). Now, if you truly have the latest version from the nvidia website, updating your drivers will not be possible. But downgrading the
