LOL@Frightlever Nah man, they're back home, in sleep-wave collection pods, which store half of the alpha waves they produce while in RIMs, then wirelessly transmit the sleep-power to the Stardockians still working at the office and at home, so that they don't have to sleep at all. It's like wireless caffiene !

Depends. Some EA games suck, but that's the fault of developers, not the publisher. The publisher is just guilty of being huge
Thus far, as far as anyone knows, no, but people ARE complaining less
How many of us who've gotten a glut (I got 5 in a 2 hour game) of Rangers have the Luck skill? I've got it, so I wasn't surprised. but if you're pulling 2 rangers/turn for 3 years straight w/o luck, well, yeah, something is wonky That said, I think the idea of a Ranger is great. . . like, for purposes of making little plots in th
I just want to say, Brad, that you guys sould be condemned for threatening my relationship with my fiance. You've been warned. CONGRATS!
Sad to see that no one else is getting the Pegasus reference. Nice conspiracy histroy there, man
I am one of many who read about the game through PA. God bless you, PA. That said, I am very lucky I have awful memory. Had I remembered where I knew the name Stardock from, I'd have never gotten itnerested in the game - I have an instance of Object Desktop (For a WoW theme I downloaded) that came packed w/ avirus (Not SD's fault, the site providing it had zipped the OD as a new file and put the virus in). Lol, so yeah, if I'd remembered
Some people will always do that on GR. . . there are just some really dickish people on there
Yeah -.- Buried in the PSCS section of the school website (Searching for IRC chat block turned this page up. . . on the FOURTH page of results fro mthe school search engine) said that their preinstalled virus blocker auto blocked ports 6666-6669. Oh well. . . got it fixed now. And had a lot of fun on the IRC chat. Sorry to people who must think I suck ass at life <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad
haaaaaaaaaaaalp
This might seem silly, but it bothers me. The anomaly that has the message like "After a thorough search turned up nothing, our crew was about to leave the asteroid when the captain bent down and picked up a coin worth 1BC, saying 'Guess it's my lucky day after all!'" Can you PLEASE make that worth 1 credit? It won't effect your actual economy (IE, the game's not gonna treat my cash as 1000.0000000001 BC) because really, 1BC does
Speed tech (or trade) to transports and fast engines, construct string of starbases while that happens. Alternately, speed-colonize the planet directly beneath the Yor homeworld, speed-tech, then buy transports on that world and fly em around the yor world up to the drengin planet. It's a stretch though. Higher than normal, I don't EVEN know.
Okay, running MSWindows XP, and I just can't get ANY IRC network to connect. Admittedly, I'm on a university connection, but I've even tried changing the ports that IRC is accessed through. HydraIRC, mIRC, and the integrated SDC client all fail to connect everytime they try to. . . "Cannot resolve server" and such. I feel like such a noob, as I used to love IRC RP chats. . . but how the hell can i get this to work ? I really wanna hang out
The mission isn't too bad. I speed-built colony ships and grabbed something to the effect of 8 worlds. I lost one almost immediately, but held the rest by continuously building defenders for the enemies to mess w/. I was lucky - they focused their attacks on my two systems in the bottom right corner. . . I had that world, under the Yor homeworld, and they didn't touch it. So, I teched as much speed and miniaturization as possibl
Actually, no. There is no copy protection. Don't copy the stardock folder. Instead, open up stardock central, click on each game file (Movies, tut, main game, etc.) and "Archive" it. Go to where SDC stores your archives (You can set the location in the Options), and burn THOSE files to a CD. You can then unzip and install with them on a new PC, and I think all you need to do is provide a serial. Stardock di
Ooo, now there's a catch - I don't know for sure if I alt-tabbed, but as I was running in windowed expressly to be able to chat w/ friends (Don't worry, I recommended the game to all of them! ), it's very possible I was doing so.
@Reckert: Star Control 2 is regarded by most as the best game in the series, and better yet, it's being remade, open-source and such, by a fan project. You can find more information here: Link Alternately, just search for "The Urquan Masters" Game 3 is my favorite one of all, as it's got awesome graphics, a hilarious plot, and much easier planetary building stuf
Why am I the only GF5600 user with this problem?
It happens on both Beginner and Normal difficulties.
Are there plans to make this do-able in a later version?
it holds the 'screen' in memory. . . so open a paint program, make a new image, and Paste in the picture (Basically, Prnt Screen is like 'copy'ing the entire screen) You can then upload the picture to some file sharing site.
Good to see an other old Start Control fan. . . I LOVE that whole series!
In the campaign, just as I completed every branch of research I could get. . .I won a victory through a little influence starbase I had totally forgotten on the enemy's border So much for my fleet of 3 4000-troop transports
Okay, I just want to say. THe right click ship built notifications trick is a frickin lifesaver. Yes, I'm sad enough to surf the forums while I play in windowed mode
I read a really great strat for this first mission here on the forums, as my allies ALWAYS build an influence starbase between my two protoss worlds (My roommate and I both bought the game, so betweeen the two of us, we have three playthroughs of the 1st mission - two beginner, one normal). We never got more than two worlds, the allies always got the rest too fast to be dealt with. But yeah, that influence starbase they build. Just put two
