I'd like the AI not to know exactly when the last picosecond to bid is and be able to instantly drop 12,000 credits to out bid me on easy difficulty. It'd be nice if the pirates launched when the timer reaches 0:00 instead of warning at 0:00 and then some unknown time (to players, the AI seems to know Exactly when it is) later bidding has to stop, how about last bid at 0:00 and then the attack launches xx later? Love the game.

Ooh lots of great ideas mentioned so far. I'd have to say : 1) Tactical space/gound combat. 2) Heroes 3) A true 3d game map. 4) Unique artifacts/ items/ technologies that can be placed on a specicfic ship(or station) or planet tile, discovered by a)finding an anomaly or building a research lab on an artifact tile on a planet. 5) Ultra techs, Dyson spheres, wormholes, transcending sentience, Assimilation etc etc.

Just a general question, what about a general adaptive AI, is it something that's just beyond what we're able to implement in modern games? Something that reviews the player's game and add's it to a comprehensive decision tree developed based around all the player's previous games created to counter that player's specific strategy. Here's why I ask... A friend of mine (extremely analytical guy) pretty much grew bored with the game once he developed a single winning strategy and

You only need basic logistics before you can research through the Life Support techs. Wow.. ok .. some kind of indicator for that would be nice then. Are there any other techs that have wacky 'guess if you can research me' dependencies?

1)A random event came up and a planet became inhabitable, so the Council voted on who got to populate it and I won. So when I started building stuff on it I noticed that the planet (size 8) had 2 basic colonies. 2)My trade routes all reset their values occasionally, even though I'm not at war with anyone. 3)Research tree, for some reason life support is placed after logistics. so you cant improve your range until you master fleet building? Please tell me that's a mistake...<b

Have you downloaded the patch? From the list of things fixed in it: + Fixed the GNN/Shipyard popup problems. Basically the popups are forced to the front.

Ran across 2 bugs in my current game. 1) I upgraded my ship (bullpup (small & mean)) to a newer version(bullpup mk2). I clicked the upgrade all ships of this type checkbox. This upgrade was going to cost me ~11,000bc and I only had ~300bc. So i figurered it was either go into massive debt or the Yor would wipe me out. So I clicked the Accept button. Lo and behold my Civilization's balance dropped to -2000 (instead of ~ -10,700bc) which I was able to repay off in short order. So I

I just helped a fellow out with this issue on the chat room. (Edit: oh hey its you! bumb51 well might as well leave this here for posterity's sake.) GalCiv is scaling itself to utilize every inch of your pc's performance. And your cpu just can not sustain that level of performace. (not your fault, could be any of a myriad of reasons.) Turn down your in game settings. (graphics etc etc) Cleared it right up for the guy who was having the problem in the chat room. <

A checkbox to not show obsolete ship designs in the quick ship build menu would sure be handy. The ability to change AI difficulty levels mid game, for when you've spend 2 days on a huge map only to realize that you accidentally knocked the AI down 1 level too far and there's not going to be any challenge for the remainder of the game and now you have to start your empire over.
