I like to play my games with very polar economic spending (heavy investing in only one of the three areas of expenditure at a given time), so there are often times when I have zero military funding. There was talk of the AI using a race’s military funding rating as its judge of military might. Is this the case? If so, then I could have a huge army with zero funding, and the races will still foam at the mouth? -Brian

Are you kidding? Black would have been awful. It the gray in GalCiv II is a major improvement over the black in GalCiv I. How would you be able to tell visible space from “fogged” space if both were black. -Brian

I have the same issue. The build times on the planets do not jive with the ones in the planet list. I wouldn't call this a " Very important bug - Please help" though, as if the game wont' run or something. -Brian

First, great job on the game!! We all know that in each of the ship display panels, you can rotate the ship around intuitively by holding the middle mouse button and dragging in the window. What took me a few minutes to realize however that the direction of rotation is dependent on where on the ship display screen you are clicking. See this link for details: <img src="http:

Congrats! I've already purchased my copy, and I have convinced my friend to buy a copy direct download for himself. I would love to know what the sales figures look like for this game so far, since we all feel so close to the development team, and we all want this game to make you lots and lots of money. : ) Kudos on the lack of copy protection by the way. Funny how I’ve felt more motivated to actually buy this game since there is no copy protection in place. <br/

Do the planets near the center of an economic star base’s "area of effect" receive the same benefit as those plants at the outer regions of the star base’s area, or does the effect loose potency as the distance from the star base increases, with a total loss of effect past the "area of effect"? -Brian [edit] Also, any idea why the computer would build an influence starbase out in the middle of nowhere, with no planets

Early in the game we were gathering resources when I noticed the Drengin Flagship get pulled through an black hole anomaly. This in itself is not terribly unusual. What was unusual however was the fact that it appeared on the same tile as Earth ! [ Link ] I could actually no longer select the planet from the main viewer. Something extra for the bug list perhaps? <

As per my screenshot, you can see that the manufacturing graph (not sure about the others) show points of zero production (7 of these points in total) for every race. I don’t remember any "random events" that would have caused this. Bug? PS: Game is absolutely fantastic. [ link ]

I think they called it a patch simply because a couple new files were needed to authorize pre-loaded copies. Hence, the "patch" simply applied whatever updates were necessary to get the game running from its "locked" state, while retail games were already in that state. -Brian

I’ve been playing for a while with no Major bugs at all. It has been great fun! Another minor bug (at least I think it is a bug) that I have noticed is that once I have allied with a major race and I have opened up a dialog with them and clicked for them to "Attack", the list of races to attack is empty (I am at war with another major race). Also, I went to war after allying with them, but they did not follow into war with my enemy. Is this also a bu

My starbase which was resourcing influence was destroyed, and I built another constructor and moved it to the newly freed resource tile, but it didn't ask me if I wanted to mine it. I tried manually setting up an eco starbase on top of it (which did build) but the info on the starbase says that there are no mined influence bonuses. I can't imagine what else this could be, other then a bug. Game is great fun though. I can't wai

Firstly, let me say that I love the game, and I give my complements to Mason and Eric for their job on a great soundtrack. Since the developers of GalCiv are not copy protection Nazis, I am encouraging all my friends to buy a copy and support this great indi team. Now, in GalCiv 1, it was easy to determine how much of each race’s influence was present in a given sector. Now,
