We've wished for it, Stardock's done it, once again .

Can we do this as well? I mean, watching the AI play without a human player? If so, how? I second this question . I do like how all races seem unique and you can actually say "damn Terrans and their diplomatic ways" knowing you're not giving the A
They're different. The ranger is much more powerful if I'm not mistaken
Me too, so... bump
I've tried this tactic by having weapon-only little fighters and few-weapons-many-defenses cruisers... but so far they attack the little fighters anyway and the cruiser having bad weaponry isn't that great. I then tried mixed fleet of small fighters, corvettes, cruisers, etc... and reactions are more varied which lets some of my ships survive longer and get more experience. All in all, defense is good but not if it means your ship can't attack properly
Si aucune version traduite officielle ne sort il y aura bien un groupe pour en faire une
Yay, I've been wondering how much time would pass until we'd see the first events/anomalies exp. packs
Great stuff! Hadn't thought of doing this yet but I'm glad you proved it works like a charm
Running Firefox 1.5.0.1 and Watch doesn't work :/... I've seen a few posts of other people having the same problem (error message says something about a time out). With watch working it would clearly help a lot Edit : "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was
This Grand Space Yacht is a nice idea and could very well be a single event out of many others. I wish random events could take another form than a screen with a picture and three choices, or random "gifts". MOO had space monsters with particular behaviours (though not many and not *that* interesting). Adventures in Infinite Space has a few rare but critical events (terrible alien invasion, stars going super nova). And in the very old K240 you'd have a
I guess my wish for this was mostly because there could be a few "combination" techs that would make a civ stand out because others don't have it. It's already the case with alignment techs but it's a bit limited. But I realize it would be a mess when it comes to actually looking for something precise ^^;
I had to copy-paste the links. Pretty nice . I thought there would be SW ships made more quickly actually... Where are the fans? ô_o
It works the same with techs you get from trade. You can not have researched any laser, get Plasma and go on from there. It's a bit more tricky with techs other than weapons since you don't get improvements retroactively so getting something far ahead doesn't mean you're equal to someone who has researched everything in between.
What I like the most about this ad is the fact it's real... I mean, it's not the first ad to boast about moddability... but GalCiv2 actually has it, yay!
Very MOO-ish requests . But it's true. I like the idea of random events, "heroes" and map unique features. Nebulaes and asteroid fields should be easy to implement in terms of gameplay (speed slowdown). Heroes would be probably harder. And events well... it depends how they affect the game.
The weird thing I noticed is that they still won't appear in the particular section. I posted one in the Bug section and never saw the post there, only in the main forum :/
Does it already exist ? If not, do you think it's possible to make new ones that require more than one previous tech through modding ? It seems techs can require an alignment but that's all I know.
I've seen a *lot* of lights on a class 21 planet with about 6k people on it I think. It was one of the rare cases. It seems class might count more than population ?
You can rename individual ships. Just make sure it isn't in a fleet and alone on its square, select it and look for the "page" icon. It lets you rename anything actually.
I haven't tried them yet but it seems there are "parallel" technologies like the psionic missile. You can't further down their branches and according to the description they're much stronger... but also bigger/more expansive. I like the idea of having a tech boost like that but probably putting it on only one ship because of the cons of it. I do hope custom content will bring in a lot of new technologies because it's fun to explore the tech tree <
I use both. Close view gives planet/ships names and you see the directions of ships. Tactical view is good to see enemy movements since the game doesn't focus on them and if you have *many* detailed ships it helps the framerate
Meanwhile I've heard you can launch a bogus game using the... Battle of the Gods scenario I think, which gives you all tech right away. This way you can design ships, then quit this game and go back to regular ones.
The Torians at first because they always get so many planets and then go to war against many races.... But then the Terrans, because they keet quiet until you totally forget about them and suddenly you realize they're better than anyone else with their economy and they quickly conquer half the map.
The chicken one is amusing .. until it blasts you I suppose o_ô;
I've tried a few things yesterday and all I can say is that it disappears after a reload, like many visual bugs of the game so far
