Here are some builds or strategies I find incredibly frustrating in the current version of Demigod. This goes beyond "I let Torch Bearer get 17 and now he can nuke me for 3k damage," and it goes beyond "someone farmed up 18k gold and is now critting for quadruple digits." This is more basic, arguably uncounterable stuff that, while extremely effective and employed by skilled and knowledgable players, is still... unfair. Cheap. Cheesy. This is by

Great thread, however I'm still of the opinion that "Minon Stats" needs to be completely removed from the game rather than spit-shined.
Sure, Generals with an Assassin partner can be deadly. But not nearly as deadly as an Assassin with an Assassin partner,
Aside from changing teleportation (give us a graphical effect to know a teleport is incoming, ala DOTA proz), I think flags are fine as-is.
What are you basing this 5v2 claim on? Not to be snarky, I'm just curious if you have a source behind your claims. And balance is kind of odd to talk about when every hero has access to the exact same items (ok, Assassins get weapons and Generals get special General-only stuff, but you know what I mean). Are you talking about inter-item balance?
Happened to me last night. All my Achievements got reset, leaving me with -875 favor, and the four or five items I'd unlocked all re-locked except for the one I used in the game before.
They'll rip the competitive scene to shreds? Oh please. Anyone who is serious about being in the competitive scene will know exactly which item(s) he wants for the hero(s) he wants to play. Make a custom 5v5, fill it with Easy AI, farm kills with a hero you haven't played yet til you get the low-hanging achievements, win, and bam, there's 600+ points with no effort whatsoever. The only thing at risk here are pubs, and even then Favor i
It's a hot topic here too I can assure you. My personal quick fix suggestion is that generals should get more money and then as soon as it's politically (marketing-wise) feasible you eliminate assassins and generals and rebalance them as one thing where everyone can buy minions and such. The minions are very useful if you know what you're doing.
I didn't want to come out and say "
I didn't propose anything. But if you'd like me to... If it were my game this close to release I'd: -crank General HP and Armor up bigtime. Like, baseline progression is higher than the Rook's (who needs a nerf anyway, but that's another thread). -slightly lower General baseline damage. -make the damage portions of General skills weaker, but the debuffs stronger (ie, QoT's spikes lose 30% of their damage but remove 30% more armor).</p
I lost all my favor points when I tried QoThorns for the first time tonight. I'd already unlocked the heal aura cape and equipped her with that and had ~1000 points going into the game. Next game I play Unclean Beast and open up the favor item panel. Everything I'd unlocked is re-locked except the healing cape and now I have -875 favor. Sweet.
Playing some Pantheon and Custom Games with real people, it's become clear that whichever team has more Assassins will win. Period. What is the point of Generals, exactly? Both they and their minions are squishy and do no damage. Why would you ever, ever, ever take a General over another Assassin? There's no rational reason I can think of. Minions are both trivially easy to kill and safe to ignore, so that leaves you
You have good points, but you could accomplish many of your suggested "value" fixes by just nerfing Wyrmskin Gauntlets. And they do desperately need a nerf. I'm thinking 3-4x as expensive.
Demigod is a casual game. One that involves basic, easy to learn/easy to master gameplay. You may be over expecting a competitive community for this game.
Discouraging spam is one thing, but why discourage a competitive community?
Click on the score at the top. If you see 0ms ping and 0 sim speed, then they are a bot/AI. I'm seeing a strange trend in Pantheon where I'm pretty sure all the players are AI since they have 0 ping but one of them will display a sim speed. Anyone else seen this?
Yeah, I see this all the time. All 0ms ping, the top one has 7-8 sim speed though. There really, really, really needs to be a clear distinctio
So I finally tried Demigod 3B today. I'm really enjoying the Pantheon feature, however I've got a few questions: -How can I tell who's a bot and who's not? Are bots even allowed in Pantheon? Is everyone a bot? -Does chat work, or have I just been talking to myself/bots? -Do the ping meters work, or am I an idiot for not taking 0ms's across the board as "everyone's a bot?" Some of the player names suggest they aren
I don't like the fact it can take logistics into the negatives instantly. Does anybody know what the stopping point is for that? I've had it up to -81 before. That's strange, as it shouldn't be able to go more than one ship past the limit. Once you're negative it won't summon ships when cast.
Would be nice if instead of using antimatter and the cooldown just to summon nothing, it
OP needs a ban tbh.
Ok, so just to clarify: -Pick a tile and queue whatever. DON'T buy it, DON'T end turn. -Click the tile with the ghostly unbuilt whatever and press 'UPGRADE.' -Select a different project. Production time reflects an upgrade to an extant structure, despite NOTHING actually being built?
Just a short addendum I recently pondered: To go along with this new dynamic, perhaps starbases could grant espionage/counter-espionage bonuses as well. In terms of how the AI and the game handles starbases, I think that Influence starbases would be the best candidate for espionage modules -- those or military. Or perhaps Influence bases can grant espionage, while Military can grant counter-espionage? Any thoughts?
Hey there, after playing several games of GalCiv2 (and really enjoying it), I found I was sort of dissatisfied with the espionage feature of the game, feeling like it really wasn't worth spending too much BC on. I could tell there was promise there -- keep up the spending on espionage, and your civ will begin to steal technologies from enemy civs -- but in its current form it's kind of, well, less than useful. The BC is really better spent in social,
