I will be following this, it doesn't feel like a 'kingdom' with 12 soldiers and a leader with a couple summoned units and a hero or two conquesting the known world... not to mention the un-random maps
Tegga21
Everything should be randomized aside from that starting fertile land and being 'blocked in'. You have good starts and bad starts, its about exploring and finding/making do with what you do/don't have near you.
We, the community would like to express our appreciation for the extreme effort you and Stardock have put in today in getting Elemental ready for release. Also, thank you for taking your time to provide screenshots and videos in the hour leading up to release. In return we can only give you our appreciation, the chaos of over 600 people on IRC and a free stress test for your servers. Oh, and our money. Looking forward to what Elem
I may sound like a crybaby, but I gotta say telling people the game will release the week before (I think Brad originally mentioned Wednesday) and then changing that to Sunday or Monday, and then finally saying Sunday morning or midday (depending on whether you participated in the Beta or not) but making it live late Sunday night (it's still earlyish here in NM but those poor people back east are already in bed or should be!) is just kind of pathetic.
Yes. You will all get the same stuff at some point later on. Best Buy and Walmart paid for additional content to be made (just like Random House did for the book). But in the case of the retailers, it was agreed that all content that was made for them would be able to be given out to all players within 90 days.
Thats good enough for me! Thank you Frogboy! /
I really dislike the gimmick of content that isn't available to everyone, especially when it affects game play. Will everyone have access to this? We all pay for the same game. EDIT: If its something silly like, a real item (AKA figurine or soundtrack CD) its not a big deal. But when its actually enhances the game in some way... Double edit: We all get the exclusive content eventually! Wohoo! Fears are assauged! Thank you S
I know these forums are inhabited by even the most hardened of Stardock fans, and i am one too. But if you love something you can't be blind to criticize it. Already we have a thread saying don't complain so I know how this thread will turn out but i'm really hoping for an actual dialogue that won't be met with rampant fanboyism. Anyway I just read this article and while I know there is a zero day patch coming, i'm a little worried abo
I was not in the beta but have been following the progress of Elemental for months now. It seemed to me that at the close of the beta (based solely on what I read on this forum), there were still a number of problems that were not resolved. For me, the only one that mattered was the weak AI. I understand from reading the dev journals that since the end of the beta, alot of attention has been given to the AI. My question to the devs is
this is my favorite book series!
I still have my beta 4 on my laptop come over and play :P
I have a 400meg update to the beta available (Version 1.00), but it says my key is invalid when i try to update. Been in the beta since Beta 1 so, not sure whats going on. Will new keys be issues when the game is released? Strange that I can see the new update. -Zanzibar
yea i thoguht mine was invalid,... so bought another copy of game... oops :)
its saying my registration is invalid for the update! Am I doing something wrong? I triple checked it.
Will you be able to design your own faction (spending points etc) like the race creation (custom) in gal civ, only in elemental? I really hope so, I know you can mode/design your own, but I much prefer a way to do it ingame via a point give/take options method. ((As well as designing who i face))
Chloroform the wife, rent a storage unit and tie her to a chair. Load elemental on a laptop outside, play, occasionally enter the room wearing a ski mask and mutter and make weird demands and feed her/give her water. After a few days, rescue her as yourself! Then you are the hero and get to play elemental!
EB Games Canada doesn't have it in their system, I went last night to try and pre order it
unless he wasn't really kidding o.o
I wish I could have gotten the limited edition, however the beta experience made up for that. Also, I just realized that I have been mispronouncing Hiergamenon.
Mail support, they give you a link to upgrade from standard to Limited for an extra 19$
That is all true, but with steam you can expect playing for DLC, paying for mini expansions and avatars, as well as rediculous DRM. Even if I was making 1/3 I make now, I would still buy from stardock :P at the full price.
Make a friend in the USA (or some where non Europe) send them a cashiers note/check for price of Elemental and have thempurchase it on your impulse account. Then you can download it whenever you like!
I'm assuming (like they've repeatedly said) that the beta's performance and the release day 0 will be VERY different. I'm very much above the listed requirements 8 gb ram vista 64 2gb 5970 ATI Radeon quad core processor Q6600 I can run multiple new games at max 1920x1200 settings without any dip in FPS but this game brings the FPS down to the teens often and requires restarts frequently to clear it up (once an hour or so)
Impulse > steam
I completely disagree. There was a very low chance to get cursed and or marked in domions three. If you played intelligently and didn't abuse (read, try to win with your 'god' every battle, rarely do you get marked. Even in multiplayer games which I played extensively. They were included to prevent you from ever being omgwtfbbq i can do/go anywhere with impunity status. There should be some things you can't 'fix' you should always have to play with sensibility , I'm xx
Let's just hope that the tactical battles do not make the game easier in the sense that you need to actually battle them yourself in order to win. A game that does this is the Total War series. In those games you can auto-resolve every battle as well. When you do this however you get some really dodgy results. therefore you should just fight the battle yourself. If you do so, the Ai employs such bad tactics that you can win the battle by
(they only have 1 planet btw, and 2 ships)
I'm not talking tech. Anything but tech. Tech is the same. I usually play no tech trading though, I like a slower paced game Influence, donating planets, trading starbases for starbases is not feasible now. I just played crippling diff, /very fast, Teched a ton of +diplo, took +diplo ability, 'our incredible diplomatic advantage... etc' they offer 16 BC for 20k influence, they want rougly 1.5bc per influence they sell they won't accept an economic starbase + morale starb
Hmmm are trades more reasonable in crippling? I'll give it a try, I play @ challenging or the next step up
