I found the resolution of PDF manual I downloaded via SDC to be so poor the text is hard to read. The text on paper is readable, barely. The text on "Figure 1: The Main Game Screen" is totaly unreadable either on the screen or printed. I can't read anything on the technology tree. Hopefully you can re-release the manual with better resolution. :(

I have also experienced the problem with the StarHawk ship. My StarHawk.ship file has the range set to 4. My gfx directory doesn't contain either the battleaxe.mdl or the shiphawk.mdl file. How can I obtain the shiphawk.mdl file?
I have not been able to maintain a positive cash flow in the later stages of my games. I seem to lose money whenever I try to switch to Star Federation government. While using Star Democracy I have found that I can change the tax rate and observe the incoming tax revenue decrease when the tax rate is increased. Shouldn't the tax revenue increase when the tax rate increases? I seem to need the tax rate to be about 50% and the spending rate under 25% just to bread even. I am usually playi
I assume the crash was caused by the negative value for the population. I would expect the invasion code couldn't handle the negative population value. The population value was present before attempting to invade. I have since played additional games and avoided attempting to invade systems with the negative population values. The AI races could invade the planet, then the population would have a positive value. I was then able to invade successfully.
I found a Drengen planet called Aldra in my game with a large negative value for the population. When I attempt to envade that planet the game freezes.
I noticed my treasury amount going crazy. I was normally running only a few hundred credits then the amount jumped to an extremly large amount and from time to time it would change to an extremly large negative amount. After noticing that if I select the Domestic policy button the game would freeze. The following is what I found the the debug.err file. Debug Message: ******* Starting Game Shell ******* Debug Message: Going Fullscreen Debug Message: RGB in format 5:6:
I agree this build is much harder to get ahead. In my opinion the cost of the colony ship is too high. The best I have been able to do is buy three ships (on time of course) before I run out of money. This will allow me to settle 5 systems counting the initial on and the first colony ship. I have the opponents level set to dumb. Once I find other races virtually all systems over 15 are already settled by the other races in the area. It seams to me that if the other races are set to a low level o
Are there plans to provide a change all function for the ship building assignment? That is one of the features from the OS2 version I missed. It is a real pain to have to go trough all of the planets to change the ship build asignment when better ships become available.
When multiple events are listed in the message field in the lower right corner of the screen, when you select the top item the status screen goes to a planet with a differant name than what the message indicated. Usually the second message you select goes to the planet the message indicated. :(
I get a window titled "Loader" with the text "Error: 70 Permision denied 0" on it when starting the Drengen Component Manager. DCM seems to finish loading when I select the "OK" button. Any idea on how to fix this?
In my game last night I researched Dreadnaught and Ranger ships, however they did not appear in the list of ships I could build.
With the latest version it seems that I can play a game, then if I want to start GC again the game freezes with a blank screen before it gets to the screen with the Stardock Logo. (:(
I have had problems with the autopilot. When the destination is assigned, the ship performs the initial move, but following turns the ship doesn't move. Have not found the trigger that causes the autopilot to freeze. :(
When I purchase buildings and or ship during a battle, my screen is occupied with the message announcing the new purchase and offers me an opportunity to select the next build task. Meanwhile sounds of the battle are going on at the same time. The net of this is, I have no idea what systems or ships are being attacked since my screen is occupied with the build status/selection screens. Could the battle activity be defered until after I make my build assignments? Or could the building progress re
I have had a number of occasions where I have assigned a ship an autopilot destination, then have the focus of the screen stuck on the sector where the ship is located. If I tried to switch to another sector the focus would jump back to the sector where the ship was located. After running a turn cycle, then the focus could be switched to another sector.
