Tried the fix documented on the first message here: https://forums.galciv2.com/382491/page/1/ The one about importing the reg file. GalCiv2 stopped crashing. It works fine, now.

Heya Bought GalCiv2 when it came out and haven't played in a while. Reinstalled the whole thing, but GalCiv2 crashes consistently on new game! It's on the screen right after you confirm your selections, before the map would be generated. On the screenshot, I had clicked "Next" then the error appeared. I read some of the forum and changed the game to windowed, winxp compat mode, turned off anti aliasing, still crashing. I m
