Playing With Friends - How The System SUCKS I hate the Wii friend system. It's shit. That's all there is to it. In order to play with a friend you have to both exchange 12 digit Wii Codes. When you add someone to your console friends list so you can swap notes etc, it does not auto-add them to games supporting multiplayer. You have to enter their code in AGAIN, and they have to do the same to confirm the match.
The game can do this semi-automagically, once

Likewise, same issue here. I can reload a campaign mission from previous versions of the game fine, and sandbox/metaverse games have no problems. But starting up a new campaign or attempting to restart a campaign mission closes the game. Interestingly enough I only got a windows 'xxx has encountered an error and needs to close' dialogue the first time I tried this, second time around it's simply closing GC2 and dumping me back to the desktop with no hint of the dialogue. Debug.err follows: <

There is no reason not to colonize some adjacent worlds, if there is noone nearby Not true. Colonising a planet involves personnel expenditure from an existing well-estabilished planet, which cuts your tax income somewhat. There is monetary expenditure in paying for the production/research on a new colony that is unlikely to have significant economy bonus

Ala 1.1 notes: + AI will tend to band together to try to stop someone who is going around conquering them (whether that be human or another AI player who is mopping everyone up). + AI players will evaluate threats and put together coalitions against aggressive players or at the very least take a more active role in thwarting aggression from the sidelines. Also do not like the fact that you have to pay for production that you are not using. For instance, you get high production on your home planet and build it up. Then you expand, then you go into a phase of building up your colonies, but don't need to build anything on your home planet -- those social production costs still come out even though you aren't bu

No turn based strategy is built without multiplayer for a reason, this is the first game of this genre since Master of Orion 1 that i've seen without it. All versions of the Total War series have had 'ghetto multiplayer', with the campaign being strictly singleplayer (barring the extensive and buggy mods available) and only the rts battles available for m

Not if you look at earth's orientation. It's north pole is pointing "up." It should be noted that all celestial bodies are considered to rotate clockwise. Even Uranus. It is said to be rotating clockwise on a 179* axial tilt Venus rotates in the opposite direction to the other planets (albiet very slowly), and a notable number of moons rotate in the fashi

"The galaxy is not a tidy place". Why is it so empty then? Space is BIG. Very big. Considering most of the action in GC2 takes place outside of a solar system, you'd be hard pressed to find asteroid fields, energy fields et al. You pick a direction to blast off from earth, and you're highly unlikely to ever go through anything like that, you're most likel

Rally Points. Some method to set a planets’ rally destination without having to select the planet, open the build ship screen, then select the ‘Rally Point’ option. Uhh, click the rally point button next to the image of the planet once you have the planet selected.

I had a nice reply all typed up, and the forum ate it You seem to think the solution to Ai picking lousy techs is to change the rules until all techs are equal, which as I shown is futile and unlikely, unless you change it into literally rock, sisscors paper stone! </TABL

if all techs are equally useful (impossible anyway), then what strategy is there in deciding what to research or build? You might as well play rock, sissors, papers... There's a big difference between being equally useful, and being equally powerful. Take for instance the 3 tech lines of weapons we have, they are equally powerful largely but they are not

And it's all dead easy. Here are the "exploits" I use: I beat the game by gettng a better return out of my resources (ships, constructors, credits, planet tiles, etc) than the AI does. Exploits indeed. The definition of exploit is to use or manipulate a system to one's own advantage. You have studied the weaknesses in the AI, and are exp

Hrm, is the 'hardware mouse cursor' option ticked in video options? If not, tick it and try that. There's something funky going on with nVidia cards and the software mouse cursor, it's possible that could be causing problems. Though so far it seems to only cause the pointer to vanish and not artifact the pooter. Artifacts are usually an indication of a hardware fault, however you said temperatures are fine and this issue is limited to

Driver Name: ati2dvag.dll Driver Version: 6.14.0010.6561 6561 is the 5.8 catalyst drivers which were released late summer 2005 if memory serves. Current drivers are 6.3 catalyst, so could be one possibility for a cause. Not outside the realms of possibility that one version of drivers causes something like

1) Espionage doesn't go away 2) Unless I'm very much mistaken, dropping your espionage spending to zero doesn't remove your espionage ability. As soon as you hit a level of espionage, drop the spending to zero and come back say 52 weeks later. Your level of espionage is unchanged, and the stuff in the report tab appears to be up-to-date (In that it's different than it was before, so the assumption is that it's current info). This seems wrong

Scrolling in ship design Badly need to be able to scroll as well as rotate (Yeah there are fancy names for such camera movements, but I'm too lazy to go look them up.) as it becomes a nightmare trying to design anything funky once you start making big ships Better hookpoint rotation I've been driven to the edge of sanity trying to rotate hookpoints correctly, not only that but if you rotate a hookpoint mul
