Yeah, if you can narrow down if it is a new feature or not, you can report it in the beta sticky. Looks like your system is set. Hopefully with your help they can iron this one out if it is a bug.

Tappo, you need the latest drivers for your audio, as well as the new patch (not beta). Make sure you keep the framerate throttling turned on in the options. Card overheating and old audio drivers have both been reported to cause 'random' CTDs.

Hmm, might be a problem with the Beta. You can rule out these two problems though: -Your newest video driver at this Link -Your newest audio driver at this Link -Did you have these problems with the 1.0X patch? -Do you get the same problem running in window mode? -Can you launch a campai

-I have same audio as you and current driver for it is at this Link . -please set your game and desktop to the same resolution because this does not look right: Current Display Mode: 1152 x 864 (32 bit) (60Hz) <TABLE cel

A side effect of no-tesch-trade is also the tech AIs had is hidden. You can't see what they have. The only thing to get a clue is regular checking what they're researching, or looking at planets/ships, if you have high enough espionage level. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF3

I haven't noticed because I don't explore in that fashion. I use a cargo hold loaded with sensors, and send them out in all directions. I control them manually and don't mind it much. I do use the auto-survey ability for the flagship though, it is quite handy. Not sure if that was any help, but you might try another means if it isn't working for you.

Well if you are that unhappy, you could probably get a refund. Seriously though, I understand you are frustrated with your experience, but alot of us are having few to no problems and are trying to help you. As for feeling like a crook, I think the title of your thread isn't getting you much sympathy. Anyways, keep us updated if that link I gave you helps.

Why the new thread? I'm assuming you got it working then? Also it is possible to install the patches on a comp not conneted to the internet, but that has been posted many times. A simple search on the left should point you in the right direction. Good luck. EDIT: This Link might have the info you need.

-update video drivers dated August of 2005 -update audio drivers dated August of 2005 -until you get it stable, run your game and desktop at the same resolution -update to patch 1.0X -after patch, make sure you have framerate throttling option turned on -most importantly, fully read this Link That should give you a good starting point. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.g

IRC Channel info: Server: irc.stardock.com Channel: #galciv Thanks for posting that, I never bothered to find the info. EDIT: Just thought I'd point this out... You got a reply from Frogboy in 48 minutes. In my book that is pretty damn good. Since you are having trouble installing, you need to do a clean install, and don'

Um, a beta is for testing purposes. If you want a more stable game use the 1.0X patch. Also the weekend just ended, give them a few days. I heard back from my email within 3 days, but I would at least give them until Friday. Also they have an IRC channel and you are most likely to get a fast response from there or here on the forums. Good luck bud. </f

By your description it sounds like graphics (driver problem), but your stuff all looks pretty good. I think there is a new driver for your gfx card, not sure if that would help. Also you might try third party drivers to see if that is the problem (omega or some other). Try turning off the anti-aliasing maybe, and make sure your framerate throttle is turned on in the graphics settings. Could you be more specific about what exactly happens when you

Updating to the 1.0X patch might help, but that video card is reaaaaaally old. I know you can pick up some really cheap 128 cards these days, that would be my advice. I run an nvidia FX 5200 with no problems and they are super cheap now.

@HEEGZ: "Languages: French (Regional Setting: French)" this is from the debug.err of guimly, doesn't look like English Hehe, yeah, that's why I posted his fix. Running Windows in a language other than English is known to cause the textures to drop from planets, etc. <TABLE cell

Notepad or Wordpad will give you the text. It is possible to have old drivers with a new machine. It is possible, but you are likely to have graphics problems, especially if they are several years old.

There are two people posting here, Grime and Guimly. Guimly needs to run Windows in English. ***Grime needs to post the debug.err file from his GalCiv2 folder.
