With the report that EA is considering licensing the Spore engine ( http://kotaku.com/5045855/ea-considers-licensing-spore-as-a-platform-for-developers ), how cool would it be for a game like Civilization or Galactic Civilizations 3 to license that technology. It wouldn't affect the tried and true turn

Well, I would go with hidden option 3, to release direct and do it on your own schedule. I bought my copy of the game in the store, because they actually had it when I checked with them. If they hadn't, I would have just as easily bought the game direct from Stardock. So what I'm saying is that I, and I imagine many others, would be just fine buying it direct from Stardock when you guys are ready to release it.

The problem is that you are setting up your scenario to be too short. Games are going to end pretty quickly against beginner AI on medium or smaller-sized maps. If you REALLY wanted to get to building large ships in this scenario, you would want to intentionally prolong the game. My suggestion, however, is to try playing on large and bigger maps. Just playing on large with 3 or more opponents really increases the play time over a medium map.

Frogboy, can you post what the front and back of the t-shirt looks like? I'll use it to make my own t-shirt using www.spreadshirt.com ... because I want to be a winner, too!

For those of us who would like to re-savor our victory, I think a limited replay feature should eventually be part of the victory screen/tabs. It would initially be limited to viewing your empire's influence cloud expansion over the course of the game. I think this alone would be fun to have, especially for those long games where you almost forget by the end what the game looked like in the middle or beginning. <img src="smiles/Yum.gif" bor

I found and bought my copy at EBGames in Fairmont, WV this past Saturday. They had one copy, and it wasn't even on the shelves. Of course, their PC game section was down to a stand up shelf off in the corner, no PC games made it to the wall displays. Unfortunatley I didnt read this post in time to take an in-storeroom pic, but i'm going to take
