I'm running XP Pro 64 and all seems pretty well here too. So a game that's going to take so much advantage of multi-core processing and 64 bit operating systems won't come with XP Pro 64 support? I'm rather shocked and dismayed now...
XP64 has little or no support at all. Drivers are sketchy at best. It has serious compatibility problems also. Vista x64 is the way to go, or windows 7 in the future.

Raven, just a side note - you should "upgrade" your OS imo....XP x64 is not the best choice to be honest. Vista x64 with SP1 is much better...:) [Especially if you work on it with vlite. Vlite can do wonders...my x64 Vista is hella fast, and it's only a 1.5Gb install now compared to the ~4Gb original install size. - You basically remove the unnecessary parts with it. Yeah..it works like a Linux install...;)]
Now that we know a smidgen more about heirs/families I think I'd like at least the choice to play on as one of my children if "I" die. Especially if I engineered some good ones..
I completely agree...this "system" works like a charm in the various KOEI games.

I was just reading the interview with Frogboy [Shacknews], and I've found this part very interesting: "The marriage thing I was talking about. Let's say throughout the game I've maintained a relatively modest empire. I don't seem very powerful at the base of it. But throughout the game I've been breeding my daughters, for lack of a better word, that have high beauty, which makes them very desirable to various players. So I have slowly become a major part of everyone else's family, so

I think that Kohan was the first game which had different AI personalities. [Plus you could create new AI personalities also via coding/scripting]. It was fun...as I remember some player created a very good AI, it was much better than the vanilla AIs..even the devs admitted it. :D Anyways, I really like this topic. Hopefully Frogboy and the team will create some asskicking AIs....because that is what we need. Not that I won't play multiplayer games, but I also like singleplayer.

I have x64 Vista + 8800GT OCed gfx card -> no graphical problems..as for crashes/memory errors etc. I don't know. I haven't played that much with this build, because the save/load system is heavily bugged also. I am waiting for the next version. Hopefully the save/load system will work perfectly. :)
There was much rejoicing. I have stopped testing the current build because everything I find seems to already be posted, and though semi fun I would rather spend my time on some of stardock's completed games like Sins. Waiting until thursday!
Yep, same here. I am waiting for the next version also. :)
Well, let's wait for it, cause Initial Build is a mess with very little to test.
Mess or not, we've reported many bugs at least. That is the purpose of the current build. It's an engine/basic test, nothing more.
It fits with the lore only to have these factions. Just go with the standard SD mantra - if you don't like it, mod it.
Correct. However, there is a problem. It won't be easy to create 3d models for the various creatures. I don't have any 3D modelling experience of course, but I can imagine that it's not easy. The question is: How many Elemental players will have the skill to create these 3D models?
Agreed Tormy-. MoM will never "Die". It will always be recognized by us old schoolers as a Classic and Legend in it's time. It's very true that AoW2 was a good successor, just as Elemental will be a even greater successor to both Mom and AoW2. I do believe Elemental will be the new King of this genre, but people will never forget the classic that started it all.
Absolutely...the game is in the right hands. Stardock actually car
