I've had them park fleets of fighters outside my planets and then invade with transports. I tend to do the same thing. Park a few capital ships outside a planet to keep anything in orbit down, and then send in the transports to take the planet(although in my current game the Drengin seem to have 5000+ troops per a planet one of which is a class 8 with over 10,000). -Spencer

G.W. I know you're lookinb for people who have seen this event....but i need to ask something: Are these "Peacekeepers" an actual planetless minor race who randomly show up or are they the U.P. enforcing laws? -Spencer

Well my transports aren't really armed for extensive combat. But I tend to have the problem of running into an escort ship or something along those lines and it's jsut easier to take them down with me. Stick on an extra troop module and a missle launcher and they tend to get the job done. Of course, doesn't always work that way. -Spencer

Holy crap, does this mean the U.P. is actually going to enforce the peacekeeping laws? I had a law passed to prevent conflict in the early years of my last game but then like a week later the Alterians and the Dregin were shooting at eachother(of course I parked a scout outside the main conflicts as to watch the Dregin get shalacked ) -Spencer

I like Capidenn's ideas. I think a defeated civ should end up being assimilated into whoever beat them. I mean, when you beat a civ(or they just surrender) you get all their planets. I think you should get their ships and their starbases too. I have yet to see anyone other than myself arm a transport. Although mine are very lightly armed and protected, they do get the chance to fight back. I've also had a lot of enemies invade my planets. My last game, for example, had

with the ability to save them and keep ones that were interesting (yes, that means you have to be able to save them after the game has started, or even at the end) I don't see why you can't keep your custom races. I mean, you can save a custom race you play as so why not save the ones you don't play as? Either way, I am really looking fowar

I've played Colony Wars before, that was a fun game. Granted about a week into playing it(it was my freinds game and system) his ps1 ended up exploding or something. In regards to the console hating, consoles aren't that bad. I have my first gen x-box and I still love it. I use it mainly for sports games(mostly because EA shuts down the internet playing on the computer games after 2 years) and for rpg games. Either way, I still love my computer more but I won't up and abandon my x-box.

I've had problems with that and event clips. They just run really slow, honestly I just skip the intro and event movies I can rad faster than the movie plays...so it's no real bother. But simply for the sake of argument, would it advised to bu a new video card? -Spencer

"...well, they wanted some more land" Say that to someone who lived in one of the European countries overrun by Germany during WWII and see how long it takes for them to punch you in the nose. Then read up on your history of the Third Reich. I get the feeling that i've read more books about the history of Europe and it's major wars t

I'm sorry that we get yet another "operatic" theme song for DA. What's wrong with opera? I happen to like the music from GC2 very much(maybe i'm just weird). I've not played the beta for DA but I plan to buy it simply based on all the neat stuff it's gonna' give us. As the cool kids say, 'nuff said. -Spencer

The "grammar nazis", as we so politely refer to them, are really just there to bug us. Just now I typed "jsut" instead of "just" and it happens to me all the time. I write short stories and am even working on a novel(when not at work or school at least) and I can't even tell you the amount of times that I find mistakes in my typing. I've gotten the third degree from these folks over typing "jsut" because I was typing fast and didn't catch it. Please, forgive me. If you can't understand a post, t

2. This sounds a lot like Rome: Total War, a game I hate. I would hate to have GalCiv 2 become another Total War game. **Shudders** Sure Rome: Total War was only one of the best selling RTS games of that last decade or so, but what does that matter right? Ok, I just had to get that out there. Now, as for your ideas Star....they

Ok, now, after checking I found out that the thing in my ships folder is one of the mods I found to give me some extra stuff(an extra human hull or two). So I should, now, be able to build my cusotm ships? -Spencer

Yeah, mine are in My Document/My Games/GalCiv2/ships I thought it kinda' strange that they were all there. But that raises another question actually. All the files from the bonus pack(and there's a lot of them it would seem) are still there too. Should I just delete those? -Spencer

Psi weapons should(as far as I can recall) be under beam weapons. They're really like lasers you control with your mind. They might have their own research branch though, but I do believe that they're under beams. -Spencer

I was going to load my save(simply because I have a class 32 planet that i'd absolutley love to keep) but if I need to start a new one I will...not a problem. Personally, i kinda' enjoy the beginning rush of getting everything around you as fast as you can. -Spencer

Ok, I reinstalled the game(and I copied my custom ship XML files to an external hard drive) and now it doesn't seem like anything changed. Is that supposed to happen? I mean, all my saved races and games and ship XMLs are still there...it looks like I never took it off. -Spencer

22 Replies 23,313 Views

The only way to fix it is to reinstall and patch up to the latest without using the bonus pack Do you mean reinstall the entire game? That might be a major problem since I have no clue what I did with my serial number. -Spencer

22 Replies 23,313 Views

Nope, that didn't work either. Does it, by chance, have anything to do with the bonus pack stuff I downloaded? I don't want to have to re-start my game but if it'll get my ships back i'll be willing to go through with it. -Spencer
