i always thought if you get a game that can run on steam, it doesn't matter whether be it a retail or a download copy, but it requires steam to run; it will run after you install it. That is, as long as you have steam installed. Besides if you bought the game, and you hate steam, then get a crack for it. Wait a bit, and some unknown genius whom have too much time on his hand will crack the game and upload the crack, wola, you can play your legit version without having to b

Dear all, I am not sure if this has been asked before, but i noticed you can't edge scroll with the mouse. Like when you move the cursor to the edge of the screen, the screen do not move in the same direction, instead it stays fix. I was wondering if this feature will be implemented when the full game is released.
It is hard to not to compare impulse and steam, when for the next short while, the only thing that really can compete well with Steam is impulse. This is not to say that it will ultimately devolved into one vs. the other. But rather, what features that impulse has while steam don't and vice versa. It might be better if impulse acts as a compliment to steam. Hence there can be healthy competition. Who knows, it might be like coca cola and pepsi, the only two dom
I suck playing online, and hence i don't do it anymore, especially when it comes to sins.
i only have steam for one game, which is x3tc. And in all honesty, i wished i have ordered a copy from Amazon U.S or get someone to order it for me and ship it to canada. I like impulse for the fact that i don't have to worry about whether after purchased, my game will work offline. For some reasons, at times, steam won't allow me to go offline mode and it will consistently try to connect to the internet. That amounts to i can't play my game. But with
i purchased a copy of X3TC from steam, even though i can back up the installed files, i can't play it off-line. I have to be on-line for steam to connect to their server, then allow me access to my game. WTF. I was royally pissed. In another thread, i rant and whine about the fact that in Grand theft auto 4, i am not allowed to save my progress, unless i create an account with the so called "rock star Social club". Meaning, i play the game, and have to have an In
Is Brad really "fat" or chunky?? From the pics of him, i don't think so. He has to tell me how to gain weight. I can't because i have such a high metabolic rate.
I just read on the Epic forums, that there are people whom bought the game on the day of expirations, and he can't play the game. i am not sure if he can even return the game now that he has opened it. One other guy is deciding to sell it instead of going through all the fuss of clock changing business. Because he is from South Africa and games there are not cheap. Soo here is an ethical question..., if i or someone else want to play GOW1
try King's bounty the legend, it is like Heroes of Might and Magic.
X3 Terran Conflict, an expansion to X3 Reunion will allow you to make money faster because the pay outs from various different type of missions are larger. Much larger. But if you want an X game that has more depth, as in more immersion into the X universe, then X3 Reunion is a much better choice, simply for two reasons, the BBS system is in X3 reunion, and it is not in the latter one. The second reason is that there are more mods and scripts for it made by the community. &n
Hello Everyone, This is going to be my first rant/bitching about how DRM scheme interferes with my gaming experience. As some of you know my on the impulse SD channel, i am pretty netural about things like SecurRom/Starforce. Previously when i purchased games like Fallout 3, The Witcher or X3 Terran conflict, they all have their share of the aforementioned DRM scheme. It never intefere with how i enjoyed my games, because it is pretty unnoticeable.
x3 terran conflict, you can hire marines to do ship boarding. or if you want something free and full version, but might not be good, but still decent, try universal combat, you can download the full version for free.
i tihnk software piracy is more of an moral issue than a legal issue. at least that is how people alywas presents it to be. The honest truth is, everyone turns a blind eye towards it. The law is being ineffective in dealing with it, sooo the only resorts society can use to mitigate the problem is telling people that it is wrong morally. But people will do it on a continue basis if they can get away wiith it.
starshatter the gathering storm's graphics are decent even compare with modern standards. Besides, it is a space combat sims, so i don't think people should be too picky about it. Unless you want X3 quality, but then that is pushing it. I like both games as well as Freelancer, but c'mon, X3TC has lagging issues even running on the latest Toshiba Qosmio or a quad core with top notch grapchis cards. So Starshatter is the next best thing if you want decent graphics, good
the BOrg and Species 8972 would own everyone just menioined in this thread.
i loved sins when it came out, but then..if it takes forever to finish one game with 10 AIs setting them to normal difficulty level on a huge map. I am not the one to play games with few AI opponent on a small map. but that is not so bad, after a few hours on such setting, the action of the game seems to be AI invading, defend, repel attack, rinse and repeat. Soo i went back to Galciv 2. Of course, when X3 Terran Conflict came out, i only play X3 and Galciv 2, and repl
i am a student at my university, and we have discount prizing for students, especially on MS products. To give you an idea, MS visual studio pro 2008 costs around 1036 dollars canadian. For us, we only have to pay 106 dollars canadian. So windos 7 will be peanunts to me anyways, probably less than 50 dollars for me.
If Galciv 2 and future Galciv 3 gets any type of multiplayer, people on this forum ought never to complaint about the quality of it. Here is why...anyone following the X3 Terran conflict/X-series games will know that on Egosoft forums, people are divided over whether any type of multi-players should be had in the game. Well..the Egosoft devs has clearly stated that unless it is for making the X-series games to be an mmo, it would not be financially feasible to installed any kind o
A universal health care system like in canada or Norway is to ensure that everyone can afford health care, I should clarify when i mean everyone can afford, it is true that if you are sick and you are poor, then it is better to live in canada than in the U.S, where you don't have to be in debt so that you can go to the doctor, but for serious illness, well it is not as efficient as say the U.S, where if you can afford it, you can pay your own way to the specialists or rely on very good
I have the game, and played here and there. From my experience, i can say the following, it is not a game for someone who just want something as simple as freelancer or Darkstar One. It is even more complex in control than Freespace series of games, though not as bad as the battlecrusier series type games. The combat can be intense or as handsoff as you want, what i mean by this is that you can do a lot of things by hitting the autopilot button and if you have the right flig
wow..you guys are still posting on this thread. i though the original story which this thread spring from is getting to be old. Anyways, here is my 2 cents on the subject. The parents that named their kid after adolf Hitler..well they are either just asking for it, or they were ready to take the abuse on behalf of their child.
so if i see it through, and i lose, that would count as a defeat, do i still get minimum score?
But having to be able to walk around and talk with the crew adds an extra layer of realism, and besides, able to fly the starship yourself is kinda cool. [e digicons][/e]
Peggle has levels, and some of them are hard to say the least, but the fun is there, and very addictive.
I think the hardest part for making a starship sim is having been allow interaction with the crew, or at least a bare minimal of it. I don't know if anyone of you remember imperium galatica 1 where you can go to various section of the ship and talk to various important crew members, or you can have it less like what happens in mass effect/ST bridge commander. Though in both games, the X-wing/freespace type of simulation fighting is non-exsistant. What do you guys think??</
