I found it to be a big deal. I tried to work out some reason why my research planet had to shut down so my production planet could go to work, and I just couldn't imagine how that would be necessary (assuming enough funds to run both). It took me out of the game - I wasn't managing an economy, I was manipulating arbitrary numbers. These weren't "factories" anymore, they were point generating boxes. The game is playable of course, and the rules work great

Just curious if this was ever fixed... I had the same issue when I first played the game ages ago. This sliders issue completely broke my sense of immersion. I'm thinking of buying it on steam, but there would be no point if this is still broken.
I want to clarify the issue that I have, because Moosetek13 posted a reply that misses the point of my complaint. This makes me suspect that I'm not being clear enough. I'm afraid I don't know the exact values for things, so bear with me! I know that people could correct this, but it isn't the exact values that matter but the idea: Let's say I have a factory on one planet that has a capacity of 10 production points. I can fund that factory completely, spendin
No, I'm aware of the focus buttons, I used them but I was still unsatisfied with the effect. 25% of my factory production goes to research? Factories are researching? Yet I'm not building research labs because they will be sitting idle? I'm sorry, but that just doesn't feel right. I would be interested to hear the justification for this system if someone could send me a link to the appropriate thread. I just can't understand why my research labs would hav
Hey there! I played this game a few years ago, and I really enjoyed it. However, I eventually got frustrated with the slider thing... the way that you need to play 100% research or 100% production to make full use of your capacities. That really spoiled the immersion for me, and it made me feel that I had to play the game in one or two particular ways in order to be effective. It has been a while now, and I'm considering re-installing the game and playing it again.
Hey there, I'm an old player who liked this game but I became extremely frustrated with a particular feature/bug... If you set your slider to 100% production, you would use your factories to their fullest.. if you set it to 100% research, you would use your labs to the fullest, but if you set it anywhere in between you would only be using your buildings at a fraction of their capacity. I believe this caused a bunch of 100% factories, or 100% labs strategies to be effective,
