I think you mean Linux - Linux had that type of style long before mac stole it from them to make "OSX".

I am a little annoyed at where the bigger hulls are. There isn't much point to them at all and it makes the game feel too much like it's fighter-only. Why not make the hulls quicker to get? In comparison, it wouldn't change much gameplay, just allow a wider range of ships.
Tabing works fine for me, but i started running it in windowed mode as it worked even better (why can it switch faster in windowed mode then in full screen? It seems like the opposite, if anything, would make sense)
Link LOL
If anything it's the name that is sue-able.
Is there/will there be a way to mod game physics and such? There are things I would like to see in the game that will not be added because of “balance”, so I would like to know if there is a way to do so on my own. (IE, blow up planets and all such fun things ).
It would definitely be useful if added. I just can't get into my Star Wars mod without a Death Star.
The Neutral one is frightening... *Mods in R2-D2*
I think Marcathonas is right. That is what I got from it.
I think it may have something to do with the population as well. Like, 30% of the people work in the labs, 30% build ships and 40% build buildings. That would explain it, but it doesn't seem like that is the case...
As far as astrophysics go, the galaxy isn't a built that way.
There is a very simple way to counter the “planet camping” tactic. 1. DO NOT BUILD ANY SHIPS 2. Build farms. A lot of them. Research farm techs. This way it will be much harder to invade you. 3. Research hull techs. 3. Research one type of weapons to the max (missiles are my fav) 4. Build a massive ship (just one) 5. Obliterate them Simple enough.
Yeah, I hate when the ship I just built is lop-sided and it's not my fault. I also noticed that some ship hulls don't seem to be even, ie even flat parts sometimes are off hight. It would also be nice to have more control over the view window in the ship builder. It gets really hard to build bigger ships when you are always looking at the absolute center of the ship.
I hope one of the bug fixes is the custom race loading system. That's the biggest error in the game...
Starforce has officially beaten Microsoft as the most evil software company on earth (and that is NOT an easy title to come by – it took Microsoft years to come by it). No longer do they only make software that destroys people's computers, now that try to criticize the noble changes made by companies that are smart enough to do away with useless copy protection. Down with StarForce!
When designing a new design in the shipyard, I have to name it "new design" or it will tell me that I cannot modify a core ship design. I have tried every way imaginable to get around this but nothing works. You have to name it something other then a pure class or that will happen. Like, don't call i
I can help, though I am not really sure where exdactly, I have a lot of projects of my own. I can offer server space on my personal web server (no mail server and it opens on an odd port... but other then that it's better then anything you will find for a fee even). I also have a lot of general abilities, like game play design (though I don't think you will need much of that), interface design, some 3DS Max modeling, management, etc. <b
I created huge custom ship design, called it "Dreadnought" and the game wouldn't let me save it. It said something like "you cannot modify a core design". But there is no core design that I could see called dreadnought, is there? Maybe you guys used to have a core design called dreadnought and the didn't get all the code out and
Cloaking is a very good idea, in fact why it isn't in the game now is unknown to me. Seems like a basic sci-fi tech...
Glitches I get: 1.when I exit the game, it crashes, as can be told by the little windows “this program has encountered an error and needs to close” pop up. Not a problem, though, since I am exiting. 2.The whole custom race load/save system is screwed beyond belief. Saving/Loading one causes the stats to all change. Diplomacy is always removed, logistics, social production and military production are always added (though in different amo
Sorry for the double post, I posted and didn't see it, so I thought there was a server error (seems like there are a lot of them). I figured as much with replacing MP3s, but that's not really what I want to do, and the issue of the MD5/date/size is still there. I can get the size, but no the MD5 and date (the date doesn't match... ever). So I guess I can try to replace them and see how it goes, but eventually I will want to add some. <b
I made a topic asking something on moding, it didn't post. So I made it again. Still isn't there.
I tried to just add the file into the "music" folder, that didn't seem to work. So then I looked for an XML file and found "gc2_Multimedia.xml", but I have no idea where to get the MD5/date/sizes it wants. Can someone explain exactly how music files are added?
