The Starbase Range excludes 6 hexes that should be included in the SB's area of effect. If "N" represents an SB's range, then the hexes counting outward exactly N hexes from each face of the SB hex are NOT included in the SB's area of effect. See this Steam post for more info: Devs please fix this Starbase range issue :: Galactic Civilizations IV General Discussions I find it hard to believe th

OK thanks for the explanation Draver. I realize not everything can be fixed but hopefully all reported bugs can be added to the dev's development backlog, and perhaps some bugs that are "low hanging fruit" can be fixed in an upcoming update.
Thank you for this bug report. I'll make sure the community team is made aware!
Thanks Draver. Can you please explain what a community team is and its relationship to Stardock? I thought by posting here Stardock would gather player bug reports directly for resolution in upcoming releases?
I just started playing GC4 recently and just completed 4 Planetary invasions. I have found the following issues with the Galactapedia and in-game info as well as invasion-related buffs/debuffs: The Galactapedia entry for Sieges states "Core Worlds can only be besieged by Transports". I just tested this in my game and this statement is incorrect . I was able to capture a Core World using only a fleet with 3 Siege ship
I was wondering how the game handles combat when multiple fleets are involved? If I have 2 large fleets in the same hex and an enemy fleet attacks me, do both my fleets participate in the battle? Or only 1 then followed by the other? If the latter can I specify which fleet attacks first? I noticed when I click on the hex with my two fleets, the information panel has arrow icons to "move up" or "move down" - if I use these arrows to select one of the two fleets does this fleet now become the d
I noticed one of my Citizens on my Homeworld has the Traditionalist ideology that provides a buff of +1 Wealth and +1 Minerals. I thought I would do some testing to verify that the buff is being applied, so I Imprisoned all of my other Citizens except the one with the Traditionalist buff. Looks like nobody had an answer in 2015 either! https://forums.galciv3.com/470685
I just started playing GalCiv 3 and have just started playing the Milky Way scenario that came with the Map Pack DLC. There appear to be zero anomalies in the scenario (I have explored a large area around my starting area and have colonized several planets). Is this by design or is this a bug? I am questioning whether I should continue the scenario since there are no anomalies.
Ok thanks. I am a little disappointed that a game that has been out for quite a while now still has broken gameplay, especially from a company like Stardock.
Thanks. Is it possible to trade FTA for FTA from the other party to make FTA work as it should? Regards Nethog
I established a Free Trade Agreement with the Thalans playing the Contingency part of the base game campaign. If I hover over the FTA help text it states "Give a 25% bonus to the wealth of both civilizations through the sharing of Markets". I have observed a zero increase in income. Is this a known bug with 1.9? Regards, Nethog
oh so if I buy the beta I also get the final game?
Can anyone tell me what the NON-beta release date is for this game? I see that Steam has a sale on this game but it is "early access" beta 4. I would never buy a beta game. Thanks Nethog
Does anyone know if there is a way to re-open the GNN news window after pressing done? I am playing GC2 Ultimate.
Aha! Thanks. You would think Stardock would have at least changed the movement stat in the shipyard to show the correct movement!
I just returned to Gal Civ 2 after 8 years and am playing the Ultimate Edition. I notice that ship movement is +1 higher then it is supposed to be. Just to be sure there were no unknown factors, I created a custom civ with no abilities or starting techs. My initial scout has no engine, and shows 1 pc/wk in the shipyard, but out in the main screen it shows a movement of 2/2. This is driving me crazy! Was there a patch update in the last 8 years where Stardock said they bumped the bas
I discovered that the enter key is the chat to ALL key, but how do you chat only to those allies on your team? There are no chat keys listed in the key config settings.
I have updated my tech tree to match version 1.4
I put an updated version of my tech tree (updated to v1.2) up on my web site at: http://home.comcast.net/~pmm1/games/games.html
I have just updated my tech tree to the final version of the 1.1 patch. Enjoy!
I have updated my GalCiv2 tech tree to v1.1-Beta3. I left the initial 1.1 release there as well (for now). Please download from my web site at Link
I created a 2-pager tech tree to serve as a planning aid when playing GalCiv2. You can download a PDF of the tech tree at my website here: Link It has been updated to match the v1.1 beta. Please let me know of any errors or how it can be improved. I am new to GalCiv so go easy on me if you find any obvious errors. Also, I have not played through a full game yet using the
