Hi, I love this game and I have a suggestion to make it better. Ok, I have read that the main map is "too empty" and I agree with that up to a point. But, my idea to improve the game does not necessarily help this commonly made comment. It does, however, address the main map. I think that it is too cluttered with ships. If they are just laying around waiting, or on sentry or whatever, there has to be a better position for

Some of the following ideas are repeats or re-statements of me or other posters, many are new but I just keep getting ideas! I re-iterate that the Constructor tango needs to be fixed somehow. Most big games quickly become a game of 'tell the constructor where to go' and that's really no fun, but I STILL like to have starbases, I just wish maybe I could build it with a single constructor, then just click on it and pay money or resources or channel planetary or astroid production to it to

Love. Honestly, though, I'd rather see Galciv gain all the good features of Moo2 it lacked, or Moo4 gain all of Galciv's good features. Honestly, they're both 90 percent perfect, I think with some sleectiove editing, someone could make 110. (It should be impossible, but it isn't!!!) I'd like to be able to assimilate other races into my multicultural empire. A race if scientists with a science bonus, farmers with farming bonuses, a caste of powerful alien soldiers, be like an ev

I'd like it if food tiles and farms were a GOOD thing. As it is they can ruin you, you never want to build one unless you're doing fantastic mid to late game and want more taxes or influnece. You'd think tons and tons of food from a food tile would make people happier, make them fat, expand your coffers, and give you something to export, rather than just making tons and tons of unhappy people who want to boot you out of office. I find the new espionage system somewhat

Well, the fact that the most likely way to be successful in any game is to 'colony rush' (The rush is a common tactic in alot of videogames, zergling rush, etc) and then just sit back and the rest of the game becomes alot easier. Even with the new planet types the colony rush still seems to be the most and possibly only viable tactic. It'd be interesting to see some alternatives. I mean, really, I'd think it'd be cool to construct lots of habitats in space or colonize asteroid

Omigod... Here’s my pretty huge list of things I’d LOVE to see in 1.6 or a new expansion. All these are not necessarily my ideas as I have read a lot (over 100) of the replies on the 1.6 threads and I implemented some here. Race-specific techs. For custom races, we could choose which one we want from the ones the existing races have. (They would be sort of super abilities that would have to be researched). One super ship

Without political opponents and a hostile media, being Emperor is far too easy. In fact, there should be a chance that I get deposed which would end the game! ...that's sortof what being an Emperor is all about. No political opponents and no hostile media. You're the friggin' Emperor, you can execute anyone and have 600 concubines. Sure, IF you're an emperor you always have scheming nobles and relatives and opressed minorities planning to kill

Starbases are a hassle to micromanage. We could really use some queues to automatically send constructors to starbases rather than having to micromanage every add-on. Even before mid-game on most maps it becomes a chore to construct and upgrade Star-Bases but you really have no choice. I call this part of the game 'Constructor Tycoon'. Maybe some more custom racial abilities. A new super-ability or two for custom races so they can be different from the pre-built races?

I wouldn't mind being able to be a Xenophobic Theocracy. I never understood why so many games consider certain governments as 'better' and Democracy tends to be the catch-all end-all. Democracy came about with the Ancient Greeks, and in the modern day, it still doesn't seem to be a miracle worker. Governments types fit specific situations, and should be designed as such, perhaps by having a 'base government' that brances, and then different branches. You could branch from Imper

The answers are helpful, but alot of people I think would like tooltips or explanations for alot of things in game. I've taken creative before and run a long game without ever seeing any effect. I still am not convinced it does anything, except other people tells me it does.

I've had the same (And similar) situations happen to me in a few games. A friendly race that I have nothing against but happen to pass by with a large fleet on route to an enemy of mine who is not an ally of theirs tells me they're not stupid, and declare war. (Which almost always IS stupid, because it's only a small race, in my experience.) However I've also observed the flip of the coin, instead of super-paranoia, some races who are just too stupid to protect their planets, e

I didn't even know there was such a thing, and certainly haven't ever seen them. But then again, it's not necessariyl a feature that is key to the game for me, whether it works or not, I wouldn't have probably noticed either way.

I beleive hearing that Tactical Combat might be in the next expansion after Dark Avatar. Perhaps if Tactical combat could allow for ship disabling, jacking, and stealing, it could be a back door for some scurvy space pirates with their own pirated fleets? Food for thought.

I honstly wouldn't mind something of the sort of Barbarians in Civ. A random 'race' that seems to have no home. (But may OCCASIONALLY have colonized worlds every now and then, or stations, as 'Pirate Ports') and occasionally attacks your ships and trading routes, builds fleets, retreats, tries to increase power solely by attacking and stealing things rather than the traditional government way. That being said, it'd probably take alot of coding, and I'm sure Stardock has alot to do. Mayb

I love these ideas. Let's say you're at war with a genocidal, berserker race of zealots of whom most of ther population are warriors dying for the glory of the empire. Do you choose to surrender the planet, and HOPE for the unlikely chance that they'll enslave the people, and so if you re-capture the planete you can liberate the slaves and have your population back? (Or smuggle them out slowly with agents, like an underground railroad in space.) Or do you convert your entire populatio

I think religeons are fitting, even in Sci-Fi there are alot of franchises where religeon is important, and I want to make my religeous zealot race, dammit! Time to convert the unbeleivers... ...into radioactive vapor!!!

I'm confused about the poll, it never gave me a chance to vote, I would have voted for 'more customization'. It was ust set when I logged in the day the pole came up. i wonder if it's possible for people to 'stuff the polls' so to speak, does everyone really want tactical battles so badly? I'm sortof fine the way they are, I mean, without new weapons and stuff tactical battles would be pretty stale anyways. I'd rather have more options elsewhere, and more tech.

I play heavy defense and almost always do well. Despite having few weapons on a ship, if you have tons of armor and whatnot, they can't do eough damage to you in the first place and your piddly weapons just wear them down. It's like having tons of inpenetrable flying steel walls. (And literal walls for having armored Star-Bases, too.) I dunno why so many people think defense is useless, a good defense is a good offense because you just slowly, lumberingly, impenetrably move forward, g

Self-Bump so someone else will see this? i think it's a valid point and decent idea for some nice eye candy. I dunno how feasable it is and I am under no illusion it will be done, I'd just like to see some other people's ideas of my suggestion.

Just as an addition to my earlier comments, I just realized a few extra suggestiosn I might as well add even though I doubt anyone will read them. Well, first an introduction: I always find myself standardizing all my ships and starbases. No matter how big they are, or how expensive, I build until I have nothing left to the max level of my technology, and when at war with an alien race, anything
