Having infinite resources typically leads to overwhelming victories where Player A pumps out more units because he has more resources. Player B never really gets a chance to turn the tables because both players have never ending resources. That model works for some games but I wouldn't like it for Elemental. Finite resources adds strategic depth by forcing the player to make meaningful decisions about how he wants to spend resources. Where if you never run out of resources you don't care if a

I don't know if Elemental's tactical combat will be that deep. I wouldn't mind seeing something like what you discussed. I however think item customization will be limited to damage and maybe damage type. I would like more options but I just haven't gotten that impression so far.

I had hoped to see some experimentation in the magic system as well. Where you could adjust certain modifiers on spells (perhaps basic spells) to create a totally new spell. Although if spell research is very linear experimentation won't have much of a place in Elemental.

It looks like most people like the five or six element model. Interesting, I wonder what Brad actually has planned for the magic system in terms of distinct elements. I would also pose the question should Lightning be included under Wind / Air or should it be its own distinct elemental force? (I doubt this will change from whatever is planned but I'm curious about the community's thoughts on this subject.)
Anyone one know anything about P.U.R.E on impulse? Looks like it could be good, but I'm not really willing to spend $30 to find out :/
I believe P.U.R.E sucks Titan I have yet to download and try the demo / free full game but it can be found here if you want to check it out. Demo / free game (ad supported)

I believe it has been mentioned that regular humans are better with technology while the fallen humans are better with magic. I don't think the regular tech will be totally neglected in Elemental it will just always be in the backseat while magic does the driving.

Well heat and cold are like brothers the same way with magnetism and electricity or mass and energy. They actually cause damage in different ways and I personally never really agreed with the term "frost burn". Heat causes damage by tearing molecular bonds or sub-atomic bonds if it is hot enough. Cold causes damage by stopping the movement or interaction of molecules or particles if it is cold enough. I suppose the feedback provided by the nervous system is similar however but then again how

The wording looks good to me GW. I'm personally inclined to think there are 5 magical forces with 1 splitting into two equal but opposite elements. I would also find six just as good but 4 would seem a bit stunted to me. (On a side note does anyone know if they are going to throw lightning under wind or is it absent in the current model)

I've also been thinking for the spell Cosmic Rain it would be cool if the 4 meteors changed the terrain of their impact zones. Where the water / ice meteor makes a arctic tundra landscape the iron / titanium meteor makes a rocky / mountainous landscape, etc, etc.

I came to the conclusion for 3 using an aggregate representation of Channeler power.
Player A may have a huge army ready to steamroll but Player B may have an incredibly powerful sovereign who can wipe out vast armies and Player C may have built up an incredible well of mana that can be used to decimate vast swaths of the world and all three of these things could come together at once based on which p

No GFWL killed UAW. The game is for all intents and purposes dead thanks to GFWL and Sega. It has great factions but the plot and multiplayer are lack luster at the top of their game.

Purely based on his description the only two magics I feel a compelling argument can be made for Planet Rebirth is with Earth and Life/Death (maybe water). He doesn't directly address water, wind, or fire hence I assume it is not part of the spell. I mean you could make some rationalizations using general systems theory but that is stretching it for me (not to mention the spell's scope is ludicrous). I believe the best path for spells that use all five (6) magics is non-elemental effect

I can see holding off on specific levels of essence since we don't know the scale but we do know a few things about essence. 1. Is important to the channeler for imbuing objects / entities 2. Is used in some spells 3. Determines the Channeler's power level when used in conjunction with other potential stats. 4. Doesn't serve the same purpose as mana. 5. Is expected to be nonrenewable or semi-renewable. There is more

I kind of assumed the Channeler creation was going to be very similar to an RPG with all of the Channeler's abilities being derived from stats. I hope there is a stat for Essence that will force the player to choose what type of Channeler he wants to be. This would create a good system of checks and balances for Channeler creation.

That spell seems to mainly effect earth. How would it use all 5? I could maybe see a mix of Earth, Water, and Life/Death but the others would not be needed it seems to me. The only reasonable action to take when all 5 (or 6) elements are combined is...... This

I believe Elemental is to Master of Magic what Supreme Commander is to Total Annihilation. Or at least that is how I view the situation, having never played MOM however this argument is irrelevant to me. (I did love TA and Supcom though.)
