Gamespot still harps on the no multiplayer crap too.
They always will. Its in the nature of the multiplayer to frequent sites such as gamespot, therefore surprise surprise they will take a pro-multiplayer stance, or at the very least appear to take that stance. Its in their circulation/viewing numbers interests, which is fair enough, its the way the world turns round. Players of Single Player games by in large do not frequent these kinds of sites as much as multiplayer,
The truth is that punishment needs to be at least somewhat cruel to actually give the criminals a reason not to commit the crime.
By that logic the Middle Ages would have been crime free, which it clearly was not. How this is expressed by most people depends to a very large degree on one's basic belief - ie is "Jail" (etc) there to punish, ie legalised retribution, or is it there to re-educate to ensure as far as we can that criminals do not re-offend. It is a
Its available on all Gamespot "Country" Sites, review was only 30 May though. Regards Zy
I agree - and it can be very frustrating. There is no facility to originate a generic pm, you have to locate a person where they have posted first. The latter is not always feasible (may not have posted for a while) or its fiddly to find a post due to the search problems. The problem could be resolved by allowing the sender to insert any name in a pm "to" box, but at present you cant it will only display a read only version of a posters name. I would guess there is a reason they did i
The Off Topic Forum will appear in all Stardock Sites as a "common" forum, others specific to each of their products, usually, appear only on the Product specific site. Even then it will not be apparent on the surface that its a common forum as it will appear in the "look and feel" of the respective Product Site. Its a good idea, although it can produce a seemingly strange result at times when posters go into Off Topic and make Product comments without (not unnaturally) referring to whi
Is it polished out enough for a worthwhile purchase yet?
Yes, just be wary of the tech bug, that can still be playable albeit sloooooowly  I suspect the patch will be out by the time you have got it and wrapped your head round the basics of TA. The usual collection of minor glitches, but they'll get zapped in the June update. Go buy, its fine. Regards Zy
This really is getting mega frustrating now, and I would not mind betting its hitting Site viewing figures. This inexplicable and sudden delay that keeps being inserted into Site Page changes when going from one page to another really is getting crazy. I've lost count of the number of times I either wait for ever and a day for a page change, or I literally go out the site and come back in as its far quicker getting the page you want that way. Its not consistent in that it does not al
Maybe I am too cynical?
Frankly, not cynical enough. One of the byproducts of a democratic institution, is a Free Press. In fact many will argue - me included - that a free press is an essential pre-requisite for fully fledged Democracy, and arguably is the basic vehicle from which Democracy develops. However, the flip side to that is the main issue of Press Integrity in the Modern Age. Too many people automatically believe what they read in the paper o
SpacePony's M1 You have a bomb proof case against the State, the Judge denied an M1, yet you still got it. There are so many checks and balances ensuring correct sentencing is recorded, I am amazed at the gross negligence. The latter are the only words for it. It is quite simply, indefensible. Take them to the cleaners - that was a disgrace. Regards Zy
I have found out I have an illegal sentence. The only effect is that my parol will be terminated as soon as I file an ammended pcra...
Excellent news - that sentence was way over the top for the circumstances of the offence. Will the annulment downgrade the side effects? ie make it easier to get on with your life without the blocks the previous one created? Regards Zy
a custom female race of fetish pornographers. In fact, all of their allies join into the clusterfrack.
With a Handle called "Castratica" something like that was kinda going to happen  Got lots of sympathy over the Event sequence tho, definitely one of the rougher draws from "Lady Luck" Regards Zy
The damn game is not available in my country (this one really sux )
One of the reasons I am a fan of the growth online distribution. On another thread a guy from China ("mightygobi") came here to download the game, he's virtually camped here now - loves the place, which is great as he is now giving a facinating perspective on everyday life in China  See "The China Thread" in Off Topic category. Online distribution can have amazing side effects.<
But every country has its own situation. You can’t use your country as a standard for other people.
I'd love to meet this Mr Wu some day, he's absolutely right. People need to get into their heads that they cant "preach & teach" its highhanded and will inevitably result in a major push-back irrespective of whats going on. As soon as you call into question someone or a Countries motives, the original discussion or topic for debate goes flying out the window as a virtual
If you are attacked by an unarmed man and shoot him before he strikes you, by your logic, you've murdered someone for nothing. By my logic, you avoided possible death and don't know what would have happened if you hesitated.
You miss my critical point, I dont claim "you've murdered someone for nothing":
Clearly it can often be the case that an intruder raises the whole situation to a point where the occupant does genuinely feel threatened, in those cases
You don't have to be a fan of the Opera to appreciate this.
Totally agree - and she's not stereotyped into Opera alone - albeit the latter is her mainstream forte. The semi final song wings of an angel was just as mind blowing as her masterpiece in the Final Ava Maria. Simon Cowe summed it right on the button at the Final : "you are one of the best finds for a very very very long time .... that performance was not just good enough for this Country .....
Way Off-Topic for sure this one .... however the subject is a most amazing 12 yr old girl by the name of Faryl Smith , with a singing voice that is pure gold, utterly incredible. She didnt win the Final of the Talent Show (the vagaries of popularist voting never cease to amaze me), however she has made her name without a doubt, and she will be an International Star very quickly. Most in UK will have heard of her, however many of th
Its a matter of style and preference - personally I always go for the sandbox mode first as a way of learning the game as is. Which ever way you go for it - learn the economy first and foremost, its the most critical part of the game (and frankly my reason for learning sandbox first). I started off playing literally only the first 12 game months or so, then restarting another game. That way I got inbto the economy and how it builds very quickly. The problem with not really getting i
No, I wouldn't be nice or harmonious to the criminal, don't get me wrong there
I'll second that "he fell down the stairs Your Honor, I didnt push him ...." - Like Hell I didnt  I agree with your thoughts though, there is going too far, and that should not happen. Regards Zy

Things are never as good as people claim they are. Things are never as bad as people claim they are. Its human nature to exagerate, we've all done it from time to time I guess. Old English saying: "There's nowt so strange as folk" - and thats oh so true  Regards Zy
What I am sure of is that a CD slip probably costs a whoooole lot less that a box.
Thats for sure - and why personally I'm happy to get pdf's (and CDs or online distribution) - the game price would rise dramatically if we insisted and they supplied Full printed manuals. I usually just print them out on my printer if I want it, although usually viewing the pdf on line is fine frankly. Pay for an optional one - thats fine both for boxes and manuals. Just dont for
You cannot put the onus of restraint on the victim
You can and must. Where does it stop? Blow someone away just because they upset your way of thinking? Blow his head off because he was drunk at the time and happened to be coming in a window because his key didnt fit the door - ie bye bye neighbor? Exterminate the latest proponent of road rage as he thumped the car door? Extremes of course, but so is killing someone who is unarmed and provides no threat to ph
