I have a feeling its a function of the difficulty level, the higher level you go the more active they seem to be, and the more defended their planet. They are still weak thats for sure, but I only see them stacking non combat ships in orbit at (say) Painful Level and below - above that they seem to be more active, even seen them colonising other planets on many occasions. I also have a sneaking suspiscion they are there as a source of Tech (always strip them of techs by buying just b

Two aspects in the same issue. 1. Fixed Window When you call up the Quick Build List in Civ Manager, its centered on the screen with a fixed window. It can block out the entries underneath to a substantial extent, and you cant move it. I run the game on 1650 x 1050, and even at that res, it blocks out a fair number. If the Quick Build Window was made 'Floating', it could be dragged to one side depending on what you need to do on the Civ Manager screen. The functio

GNN News appears One line warns of spy present on a planet Highlight the line, press goto on the GNN screen Press Nulify on the spy screen On completion you are sent to desktop, not back to GNN Effect for user is that the entries in the GNN screen that follow the warning are lost. On anything above Small map, thats a drama as there could be many entries of completed ships etc. To find them you would have to hunt all planets to find those with completed ships to launch.

Twilight Beta Version 0.83.000 Dont need a save game etc for this, its consistent with any Civ Manager Screen. Open Civ Manager Check under Class for a Planet with open tiles - shown in brackets (note the number of free tiles on the planet) Double click that planet line in Civ Manager Fill the tile with the required improvement Close the Colony Manager screen returning to Civ Manager Screen (as if to work on other planets) Look at the free tile nu

Terror Stars - How do you build them? The tech tree line for them is long research but no where is there an indication of how you build them once the research is complete. I've looked everywhere, still havent worked it out, a couple of words indicating how in the Tech tree explanations would save much frustration. Regards Zy

Interesting comment about trade, so far I have seen them jump out of range, so in effect they become suicide missions as they cant move after the jump - I take it you accept the hit that they cant move after a jump as a trade off for the trade contact with other Civs? It came to light for me because I usually construct my own survey ships in shipbuilder early game (2 or 3) and use them to find anomolies. Been doing it manually in the past, but thought I'd give the automate anomolies fu

Had this a few times, same outcome and easily reproduceable. GNN News appears, inside it says a starport is ready. Click goto (planet of new starport) in GNN screen In planet screen click build ship top right of screen It then takes you back to the GNN screen If you click goto (target planet) again inside GNN, then you are sent to the shipbuilder, which is where you wanted in the first place, but on the second try you actualy clicked on goto (target planet). Seems like

Been running a survey ship on auto, it will go for wormholes and then obviously off on a trip with Dr Who I can see some people would want that, but in early/mid game its an easy way to get your ship stranded out of range on the larger maps (I play on Gigantic/Immense), and therefor argueably on auto they should ignore wormholes or programme in a popup "Want to explore wormhole?". Never used survey ships on auto bef

Its only "late" when its a mess on arrival. Since the latter never happens, its no issue. The fact that the fan base is kept in the picture as far as is sensibly possible in the ever changing world of development, is why Stardock has such a loyal following. If other corporations took the trouble to communicate in a similar way the world would be a better place. Regards Zy

I agree with the tedious comment at post one. Mega events are good in principle in that they do provide variety etc, however common sense needs to apply. If they in effect destroy a long challenging game on (say) Huge or Gigantic, they pass into the relms of stupid. The speed one above is a good example, thats silly to give such a speed increase then claw it all back with a 5 restriction. I get the feeling many Mega events are not properly tested at Huge/Gigantic because the effects at those

One who is a nonbeliever or simply lukewarm to religion is really irrelevant; for voters should know that in time of crises, a divine power is inevitably invoked ........as in the proverbial there are no atheist in foxholes. The "irrelevant" might have something to say about that at voting time As to "no atheist in foxholes", if you are about to get your head

I have no problem with female priests, but then I'm not Catholic. I just find it wierd to say the least that they call themselves Catholic, yet refute the Popes authority and insist on being married. They want to go ahead, help themselves, free country - but they should expect a large dose of scepticism. Not all men are chauvenists.

Same issue - two thirds down the screen. Happens every time, yell if savegame needed, but it appears easily replicated by the looks of others comments.

In Iran during the 50s we got rid of a democratically elected government and put the shah in power. Thats a bit of stretch - the Shah was away for 3 days .... He was put in power after an Anglo/Soviet invasion in 1941 deposed his Father and put him in power (aim of the invasion was to secure oil and supply

"An astounding thing to any European who has even a passing familiarity with the bitter history of intolerance, religious warfare, persecution of heretics, witch-burnings, and general mayhem and slaughter associated with Christianity in Europe is the degree of religious freedom in America" Why astonishing? And please keep the soldiers in Iraq safe so when they come home to thier families for not just vacation but for good, they aren't dead. Well spotted, he obviously is worried. I guess you cant avoid that kind of topic these days for long, age of instant communication etc etc. As was said earlier, kids are smarter than we give them credit for. He's obviously now trying to deal with it, maybe even indirectly asking for reassurance from you. Your sensit

Its the rise and rise of the Silver Bullet. First came "positive thinking", after all that’s all that’s needed for "success". When it was discovered that in this brave new era, those with one brain cell were merely transformed from stupid to positively stupid, we hit the wonders of "fifth runner up" etc. It went phut from there, as responsibility and achievement was easily shed when one was always a "winner". It was then only a short step to convince many that therefore standards are not neede
