Last but no means least ..... Microsoft have canned XP - and XP developers now get zero MS support. It therefore takes a particular kind of Lunatic to develop and release a mainstream game that purports to be supported by XP. Having canned XP, it becomes insane to support 32Bit. Brad maybe a controversial in some peoples eyes - but stupid he is not.

Ahhhh .... the old Steam argument... Do you really believe Brad would leave his Gamer Base out in the Cold just because Steam Collapsed? That's just insane .... On Day 2 of a Steam Collapse I guarantee Brad will be either Posting, or rapidly working on a Stardock facility to get us all back on line. Some people just make a life's work of moaning, its astonishing....

There is a bottom line to all this - do you trust Brad or not? Me? every time . Were there issues in the past, for sure, a couple, so whats new, its life in the Gaming World. The Massive difference is Brad will pull Heaven and Earth to fix any Major Failures until they perform as designed, and we the Gamers don't get screwed paying more cash for the fix. The Industry has been littered for Decades by Money Driven Commi

Ahhhh the age old Combat thread resurfaces. GalCiv is TBS - and hell will freeze over before Brad turns it into some kind of Combat RTS fest for the brain dead - its not happening. He might play around with the combat box, but it is likely to stay as now - more graphics effect than anything else, and be an option to turn on or off. GalCiv is TBS, it will stay that way - there is ZERO chance Brad will move from that with GalCiv, its his Premier TBS Game, and if anyone

Hot issue ? Never in a zillion years - its the usual nonsense trying to turn GalCiv into some kind of brain dead shoot-em-up. The latter will never happen, there is not a cats chance in hell that Brad will allow GalCiv to join the shoot-em-up idiocy. It is a Strategy Game, and it will stay that way - punching fresh air over the issue like some old over the hill Boxer will never change that. GalCiv is a TBS game, and that is its Core Strength, they will never change that.

People are living in a world of dreams to think this will not be a Steam Release. Its a financial no-brainer for a Games House to have third party distribution etc. There is no way this will be independently released - not a chance in hell - get used to it.

I prefer the ability to think, plan and decide, then see the results of my strategy, not have my strategy fall apart because King Twitch could click faster and control resources quicker than I could in a contest of finger quickness, not brains. Yup - lets not lose sight of the fact this is a Strategy Game, not some wacko shoot-em-up. The latter tedious genres are out there by the dozen for the brain dead. GalCiv must not join them, it m

Is it just me or is the 64bit only and steam only crying a bit too much on the forums already? I hear you, and you are right. Its time to let go of the XP and 32 bit comfort blankets, has been for a long, long time. Stardock have stayed true to the fanbase concerning those with older hardware for a long time, but its time to cut the XP and 32 bit umbilical cord and move on - the advantages of 64 bit far far outweigh an

I hope GalCiv III does not fall pray to real-time based mania. The vast overwhelming majority of GalCiv players are into it because its turn based - one of the few superb gaming titles that is. Nothing wrong in giving an RTS Option to play, all for that, but don't forget GalCiv Roots ..... Single Player Game against an AI. There are Legions of Gamers out there who ache for a quality single player TBS GalCiv III, but one that has not fallen prey t

It takes 25 years for a mainstream operating system to mature and become fully stable, as all mainframe and unix flavours have demonstrated for decades. By that guise Microsoft still have another 6 years to go .... and going by Win7 its starting to look like they will do just that. Google "OS" will not be a serious OS for a good many years to come - even if that is their game plan, which I doubt - although I hope it does evolve that way, competition is a good th

I no longer trust EA in any way whatsoever. Its not yet clear what the angle on this one is ...... but there will be one besides DRM. Whether its tracking online useage, site visits, cutting down on code by using server based modules for the client .... whatever, I dont care, not buying it or any of their games. If I pay for an SPG, then I expect to get an SPG - no dam marketing fudge and creeping "control the gamer" freaks. As far as I am concerned this latest EA id
